Just received a FB Happy Anniversary for being there 10 years. Whoopie doo doo. ??? How many use FB and how long have you been there?

I have been on FB for about 11 years, ever since they started with community colleges. I have lots of liberal friends and a few relatives that haven't disowned me yet.

@Sheannutt I kept messenger just to keep in touch with my family and friends. My family will tell me when it's a relative's birthday and friends will tell me when it's one another's birthdays, so it's not a big loss, I really don't miss it at all! I'm happier here! I'm free to be me!

I am on FB and it's the reason that I am here but I hardly ever post those anniversary videos. They are cheesy and usually meaningless. The vast majority of people I know on FB I knew years before we connected so the anniversary is years late.

I was encouraged to join about 2005 by a friend in Hoi An, VN as a way to stay in touch. FB became sort of ho hum and untrustworthy a few years ago so I have pretty much dropped it. Agnostic is a lot better. I'll recommend to my friends.

@Sheannutt Two more than I have.

@Sheannutt I met you on Agnostic. I was refering to getting FB friends to join Agnostic. But yes, I'm glad I've gotten to know you and your friend. That's the advantage of Agnostic. It's much more group friendly for folks who don't know each other before.

hmmmmm ....Facebook began in 2004....they were only a college website until September 2006.
Are you sure you don't mean MySpace? There is no way you were on Facebook in 2003 since it didn't exist.

@SkotlandSkye I think that was MySpace.

@JimG that would make more sense. Obviously.

@SkotlandSkye she did start a Facebook page for me. I don't have any idea when now.

I'm still on facebook just because so many of my friends and family are on there, including remote ones. I've been on there for over 9 years now.

I have a lot of family members on FB too, but I am not going to let them drive me away. 😀
