The most cooking I do in my kitchen-less apartment here in Songkhla, Thailand, is to soft boil an egg for lunch in a stainless steel coffee pot, then scoop the egg out of the shell, smash it with a fork, and crumble fish rind chips into it. Mmmmmm.

I am recovering from intestinal cancer, using cannabis oil, and live alone. I have to eat what my body allows and what improves my symptoms. Luckily, these listed foods don't exacerbate my condition, as my health is improving. For a while there, I could barely eat anything at all.

I also steam heat "kowtomat" rolls I buy ten at a time from a nearby Thai street vendor, and keep frozen in the apartment building office fridge. The rolls are made of sticky rice, wrapped around a core of minced fruit and a few black beans, wrapped in banana leaves, and roasted.

I put a frozen roll in a little bag I sewed from a piece of coarse cloth, and hook it over the coffee pot lid with a string handle on the bag so that it hangs inside the pot, just under the lid.
I put a little water in the pot, hit the "on" switch until steam starts coming out, then turn it off. I do this a few times, letting the bag hang in the steam for a while while I watch Netflix.

That restores the kowtomat roll to its original texture and flavor.

My other food isn't something I cook. I eat a single-serving can of spicy Thai sardines, and a bowl of a small handful raw cashews mixed with local unsweetened raisins and dark chocolate chips.
