Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I drive by one everyday. All my books are on a nook or in digital storage. Gutenberg press [gutenberg.org] has thousands of books. More than I could read in the remainder of my lifespan.

Cd's killed V.H.S.
Pirate killed Cds.
On-line killed High street shopping.
Email &Social media killed letter writing.
I'm pretty sure Google will kill libraries..even if electronic books didn't....
It's a pity though...progress always seems to have collateral damage of some sort...☹

@JustLynnie OK. Now I am interested and might check out the library. The thing with me is I don't pay for too many things.
I quit using the public library years before I moved to Thailand in 2010, preferring to read books on Kindle instead of having to special order books I wanted to read, driving 12 miles to the local library in my SUV, paying $$ for gas, then having to return the books, trying to avoid hefty special order fees if I missed the deadline.
But that also means I had to pay for the Kindle books - something I didn't mind doing, for books I would read repeatedly, but took a loss if the book was disappointing. Luckily, most of the books I bought I'm still re-reading today, since I had already read the books I ordered and wanted to re-read them already.
Of course, now I can read new Amazon Kindle books for free if I buy a Kindle reader, but I can't get one here in Thailand.

@JustLynnie Cool! Can I read the library books in Kindle format?
Do an online search for a kindle reader and do it without the geo restrictions. Search it a bit. Amazon has a kindle reader app totally free.
@DenoPenno I have the Kindle app on all my devices, but if you buy the inexpensive Kindle Fire tablet, you can read most Kindle books for free.
@birdingnut Not to mention freebooks.com or fussylibrarian.com
There are at least 8 libraries within just a few minutes of me...this has always been a book-loving community. But now, they have computers, 3-D printers, discussion groups, etc. The libraries are places where people can find many more resources than "just" books!
And, by the way...that's a funny post!
