Heel, best part of the loaf.

MsHoliday Level 8 Sep 14, 2018

Only good in a sandwich when you've got both of them.

The heel

Woodron Level 7 Sep 14, 2018

The heel. I save these in the freezer & make stuffing once I have enough (i don't eat a lot of bread since going gluten free).

part that no one eats, you heel.

glennlab Level 9 Sep 14, 2018

I love that part of the bread when it's toasted.

@Sheannutt I don't eat a lot of bread, but with fresh bread, I like the crust best.

@Sheannutt with peanut butter?

@hankster yes and honey.

@Sheannutt Me too, but I only eat GF bread now.

@MissKathleen if I eat bread is gluten free, I haven't had bread in months.

@glennlab I make a killer onion cheese bread. Mmmmmm, all yeasty and warm!

@Sheannutt Yay, no more gut bloat and runny nose!

@Hathacat Love fresh bread, just hate to make it,

@glennlab That's my go-to comfort thing. Nothing is better or more comforting than the smell of baking bread. My happy smell which if a different thing, you see, is apple mint, lol.

@Hathacat Now, you're just trying to make me hungry

@glennlab I didn't eat dinner, so you ALL shall suffer! Bwahaha *flings cape over shoulder and trips over Taz, her trusty dog.

@Hathacat Just had to go put some pumpkin bread in the oven. I hope you're happy. lol

@glennlab What! You had pumpkin bread and didn't make French toast! Tsk, tsk

But I am happy! Gleeful, even!

@Hathacat French toast has become my go to hot breakfast food during the summer, winter time, it's grits or oatmeal.

Glad you're happy.

Heel - toasted with butter and maybe some guava jelly - yum!

Julie808 Level 7 Sep 15, 2018

I like it that way except I love raw honey.

After baking bread for over 35 years, I call it the "end piece."

It's crusty and delicious hot out of the oven with butter. My daughter and I used to fight for the end piece, right out of the oven.

the reminder to buy another loaf.

Nardi Level 7 Sep 14, 2018

Yummy toast!

Umbral Level 8 Sep 14, 2018

It does make the best toast yum

It's called the heel

steve148 Level 7 Sep 14, 2018

I call it the heel.

'bread ends.'

i say "end piece"..

hankster Level 9 Sep 14, 2018

The heel. I eat them last and often use them for French toast.

Wrytyr Level 7 Sep 14, 2018

I let them dry and then run them through my food processor for breadcrumbs.

Well ma'am , depends . If not hungry / time flexible / non working , then this piece is " I don't know u ".
If just home after 16 hrs shift plus driving 2 hrs , and this is available , then is " hello love of my life , come to mommy "?

Pralina1 Level 8 Sep 14, 2018

Heel -- my favorite part

Mine too

lerlo Level 8 Sep 14, 2018

Sometimes the end and sometimes the heel. I don't like them, so don't think about them much.

Hathacat Level 9 Sep 14, 2018

I love them when they're toasted up real good

@Sheannutt If I just made it. then of course!

Howarth Level 6 Sep 14, 2018
