I'm not sure I chose the correct group. I'm a stone cold atheist. My understanding of agnosticism is they "Question" the existence of god. There is no god. Period!

Is there such a place as www.athiest.com ???
Too many partial believers here..... There is NO fucking god. Pediod and I would like to discuss this with like minded folks. Not spiritual! That is just foolish in my opinion,.

I have just joined and wished I was as certain as you about the absence of a god and could write "period" after a statement.It does not make your statement more accurate but perhaps makes you feel better.Have fun though and good luck with proving it.

Only fools attempt to prove a negative. I use period! as an emphasis in MY belief..... or I should say non belief. The best atheist answer is I DON'T KNOW.

It comes down to how pedantic you are when it comes to definitions. Burrowing down to the roots of each word gets you to atheism = lacking deities and agnosticism = lacking knowledge.

I classify myself as agnostic atheist because they're not mutually exclusive. Plus, to believe in something should require knowledge of its existence. Otherwise, you're just cognively dissonant.

So very true however we still have a multitude of people who believe they are useless allowing god credit for their good things and blame the devil for their failures. There is no thought with these people, period.

There is no period... God.

i don't tell others how to believe, but i am not shy about telling others what i do or do not believe. i have no more proof there are no gods than anyone else does, but i have no less proof regarding the tooth fairy, unicorns or the monsters under the bed. that means i am pretty damned sure there are no gods, and i don't occasionally wonder if there really are any more than i do about the other things i've mentioned (except the tooth fairy, who owes me money). i don't see agnostics as people who question the existence of gods (those are doubters, not agnostics); i see them as atheists like me, who unlike me occasionally "admit" (sometimes only if pressed) that gods are possible, but who, like me, probably don't worry about it. my view could be incorrect, and since it's a generalization, some agnostics may fit it and others not, but i don't worry much about labels (except when people try to relabel their particular god to make him/her/it seem less supernatural, i.e. god is love, god is nature, god is all around us, god is a tree, "higher power," etc. -- no offense to those who consider themselves spiritual, but i consider y'all religious).

Maybe I can help you see the subtle differences in Agnostic and Atheist. There really isn't much difference in the two, meaning they both encompass the same premise: I do not believe in your God, and I will not worship it or practice your religious belief system. Being Agnostic means that I believe that there is a possibility that a god exists, but it isn't up to me to claim that a god does or does not exist, and I will not worship it either way. Being Atheist means that I do not believe in a god, or the possibility that a god exists. I hope this helps. Agnostics and Atheists are on the same team. We just have subtle differences in our points of view.

really you have proof thats fantastic we have been waiting for this day

Most of the people here seem to be atheists, although the newer members often are agnostic. But more often, the newer ones don't know the difference.

I agree with you totally. There is no evidence of gods at all. Neither side can prove one way or the other. I do not believe in gods because they are imaginary. I hope that helps.

From time to time you find a bunch of circular bullshit in which the presenter thinks they will prove their god. None of it has ever worked and it never will. What is written in a book might prove mathematics but it does nothing for a supreme being.

Hang around for a bit and you'll find a wide range of opinions here - from religious to strongly atheist-leaning agnostic (such as myself) and from committed atheist to vehemently anti-theist. We are, on the whole, respectful towards all views provided the person expressing those views shows respect too. You never know, you might even end up enjoying your time here.

I'm not sure you did either.
Seriously though. Prove it. Kidding.
We are a diverse group.
We have theists here. Somewhere. They hide a lot. Hard to spot one.
It will be easy for you or decide if you like the discussions.
Plus, we have some super hot females. They all live a million miles from anyone though.

No. This is a forum for Athiests and Agnostics. I am neither. I'm spiritual, but not religous.

I've heard that "spiritual" nonsense before. What exactly do you mean?

As usual, spiritual but not religious can mean anything that you want it to mean.

@DenoPenno For me it means there is some power out there, Not a personal god. Or gods. Look up Entianian religion.

Pothragious claimed god was the sum of all numbers.

@shebaloney You are wrong. I am not a self-centered, ego-worshiping Atheist!

@TheGreatShadow people may believe what they wish, but to me, "some power out there" is just as unlikely and unprovable as a personal god. i am an equal opportunity atheist, myself. i disbelieve in all gods, higher powers and anything that could be considered remotely supernatural.

@JimTheKnife I too am spiritual. This means I believe in energy and it/s affect on the world around me. I am not afraid of things due to the focus of intelligence. Look at the situation and then approach it as it were not threatening. Rather it is possible. this is my belief that my energy opens the world around me in the same energy . I seek to be with thinkers and realist . Spiritual is the understanding that I can if I really approach the situation with my brain and not others.

@shebaloney I just read your bio and I see why you said what you did. You may just as well consider yourself religious. I applaud everyone's right to believe what they wish. Your at this web-site says it ALL regarding the things that blow up your skirt. Hope you sleep well........

@DenoPenno COP OUT 🙂
