Also, he is not running this time around. I think he has bigger aspirations for the future.

because despite not being a total asshole, he's mostly an asshole. he speaks out against trump... then votes with the rest of his criminal organization. it's easy to be brave when you're not running for reelection. if he were, he'd be talking as badly as he votes. talk isn't always that cheap but votes, it seems, are even more expensive.
