FACEBOOK CRAPOLA -

My FB feed is filled with pro-Xian, pro-Trump, right wing rhetoric. Where did I get all these friends with such poor judgment? I hold my tongue to keep the peace but Jesus tapdancing Christ, sometimes I wanna cut loose and just go off on all this republican shit cluttering my page.

Instead, I come here and make posts like this so you all wind up listening to me vent my spleen.

Aren't you lucky?

sometimes that is a problem on Facebook. Keep in mind that you could always unfollow any radical Trump supporting conservative without unfriending them.

i don't know. where DID you get them? from the looks of your comment, you got yours at least partly the way i got mine. we're both writers and want as many readers as possible; my facebook page is totally public. i also used to play some facebook games (the two games i still play are not facebook games) and we all needed a fat friends list to play properly. some of my game friends turned out to be highly compatible, and others turned out t be racists or superchristians.... feh! we have made adjustments over the years. if i see racist crap on my page, that "friend" gets unfriended. if someone is a republican, that's not reason enough to unfriend all by itself, but i they turn to namecalling, out they go. it works out, for the most part. that doesn't mean my facebook feed is in a liberal bubble -- far from it. it just means i don't have to scroll through much vitriol aimed at me, for example.

I came by several of them because they were people who know people I know or they're some kind of distant relative and they sent me a friend request on that basis. I'm an author so I want to make more friends to read and recommend my stuff so I accepted the requests. I don't vet anyone for politics/religion so clearly some evangelical Trumpublicans got through.

I can handle it even though it makes me wonder how they can all see this trainwreck and still remain so staunchly republican. The evangelicals I have no hope for; they're never going to get a clue about the great space daddy in the sky but the unwavering love for the orange shithead is bewildering.

Not I.
Every time I saw a racist or pro-Trump meme or comment, I'd confront the person via messenger, and if they didn't apologize, I defriended/blocked them and stopped all contact.

I finally skipped the warning, and have blocked several cousins, three siblings, and most of my Haiti MK (missionary kid) friends when they came out of the woodwork as Trump supporters during the 2016 election, and since.

I can relate. I have unfollowed so many people. Now I must go through and weed people out. If you're not gonna talk to me in real life, why would I want to be fb friends?

The "don't follow" setting can do wonders for that, as can telling FB to quit showing you material like this or like that. I did that, plus started following some humor sites and it worked! FB is basically just entertainment for me, now.

I'm in South Carolina and am flabergasted by the women who support Lindsey Graham and say how proud they are of him for his speach. I just want to puke!!

Same here. Meme after meme in support of Graham, Kavanaugh, Trump, and how all the answers in life are found with the love of Jesus. It's like being trapped in a box full of Fox News viewers.

You're a better person than me.

No, I just don't want to fight with half my friends no matter how dumb their religion/politics may be.
