What as a theist made you question prayer?

Hospitals are full despite prayers. I prayed for 10 years for God to tell me exactly how he wanted me to serve him "the right way" with "The right doctrine." He never bothered to let me know. The spirit was telling everyone something different. I learned that it did not matter if I prayed or not, the results were still what ever happened. I am David La Deau, I no longer believe there is a God.

These days when people try to tell me about the power of prayer I ask them about the poor children in St. Jude Hospital. Why is god not healing them? Are they of the wrong religion? Maybe enough faith was not displayed because they are relying on science? God is mysteriously absent here.

I was seeing what will be, will be, with, or without prayer. In other words, no difference.

One example I find amusing was on deployment, I persuaded a Wiccan to brief the rest of the team on his faith and one of the others asked if he cast spells. He said he no more did so that when Christians prayed - simply a voiced expression for a desired outcome.

Seeing no results. Things occurred as they would by nature.

Common sense ,and thinking logically

I noticed that I got everything I asked, or even wished for; things that were good, bad, or neutral, whether or not I actually bothered to "pray."

I finally decided it was all me. I was the one making things happen.

Jesus even said so in the Bible, in Mark11:24 when he said that if we believe anything we have it - we can even throw a mountain into the sea. There was no mention of anything I believe for having to be "god's will" or the person having to be a Christian.

In fact, in the original Greek, the pronoun used included all declensions, so that if anyone, or anyTHING believes (consciously and subsconsciously), it will happen.

Very quantum physics!

i never questioned prayer because i had never prayed; prayer wasn't the issue. i just realized there were no gods.
