For whatever reason, I've been hearing a fair amount of old disco hits on one of the radio stations I regularly listen to on the drive to and from work.
I find myself, singing and swaying along to the beat of Boogie Shoes, Knock on Wood, Hot Stuff, and so many others. As soon as I hear them start, the volume goes up.
I think it's time for disco to make a come-back. Who's with me on this?
Vote below.
I'm all for bringing back disco and I never could or did dance it. I just love the songs! Well, all but the Bee Gees. I have a 3 CD disco set that I play often and it has most of the good ones we all remember.
What is it about the Bee Gees that you don’t like...since you like all the other disco numbers?
@Marionville I'm not into high pitched voices. Bee Gees, Four Seasons, etc. are examples. I'm also not into The Ventures. I once had their greatest hits but it all sounds the same if you listen to the album. I take the Bee Gees sparingly also.
@DenoPenno Fair enough...that is as good a reason as any. Their disco music is great though.
I take a CPR class every year and its thought that the rhythm for chest compressions is the same as the beat for the Be Gees staying alive .
So you can dance to it and revive people from certain death. Like I said, disco's great.
There’s room for all types of music....disco included. I hate music snobs, only this or only that! It must be really boring to only listen to one type of music to the exclusion of all else. Besides it’s really great to dance to ...!
My thoughts exactly.
Time To Bring It Back wins with twice the votes as Let It Stay Dead! Let's dig up Robyn and Maurice, reunite them with Barry and get the Bee Gees back into the recording studio.
A post like this needs to be accompanied by a pic of you in a white leisure suit
I once owned a lime green leisure suit but had the good judgement not to take any pics.
@Sgt_Spanky perky
@Sgt_Spanky I had a pair of red plaid bell bottoms .
The premier thing to listen to when cleaning house! Done in no time with a smile on your face!
Disco got me out on the dance floor and thus meeting WOMEN
That was always one of its best features.
I appreciate it for what it was designed to be. Fun, something you can dance to or sing along to. Those who don't like it generally don't like those two things or they offer think it. To each their own, but i think they miss out.
Agreed. It's their loss.
Not my decade. But I really love this Bee Gees song 'More Than a Woman'. Why? Because my profile says so.
@Gurahl I went out of my way searching the internet... found one on eBay, I hope you find a rose gold pair
here's the link...

Being an extreme metal fan, I don't have much time for disco. However, I quite like Jamiroquai and Daft Punk, which are pretty much modern disco. I mean, listen to the wah wah guitar, funky bass and big strings on this one...
This is good. I can definitely hear the disco influence.
@Sgt_Spanky oh, and don't forget this disco-soaked, dance floor filler...
