I don't do Christmas, but I like to decorate with natural pine wreaths and such...winter stuff.

our christmas tree will be... well, he's only five seven. we're jewish. we have a nice menorah! we like candles! no jesus, no saturnalia, not even kwaanzaa, and i know i probably have an extra A in there.

i might mention the oil miracle for richard's benefit but i'll also mention it's the miracle part, to keep it in perspective (fiction, and all) and all the other parts are, you know, history (war with the assyrians, no gods involved). we're not sure about judith and holofernes but it's a cool story and a good excuse to eat cheese. for those who don't know the story: assyrian leader making war on jews, nice jewish girl brings gift basket if wine and salty cheese into his camp, she's pretty and he's horny so he lets her in, she gets him drunk and beheads him, carries his head openly through camp, horrifying his soldiers to the extent that they don't lay a hand on her as she leisurely escapes. true story? who cares? again, no gods in the story; yay for the nice girl with the sword! eat cheese and enjoy!
