It's all chemicals. Exercise releases your endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine and it makes it better.
Agree! My bike rides are the only "church" I need today. I ride to my little sanctuary at the end of the path, a good spot for reflection and contemplation (and whale watching!)
On a bike, it becomes clear, the more effort you put into pedaling, the farther you go. Likewise, when you get up to speed, you can often coast for a while and just enjoy the scenery passing by without effort.
Ah, the cool air on my face, seemingly blowing the cobwebs out of my sometimes dusty old brain. A favorite pastime!
