Where do you tend to go when you go down the YouTube rabbit hole? I often end up watching ships taking on massive waves or tsunami footage. I miss my ship days (did Semester at Sea and worked on a couple cruise ships, though never had really bad weather) and I live on the OR coast which could have an earthquake and tsunami like the 2011 one in Japan. It's both fascinating and terrifying to watch. Tonight I branched out and learned about the lost Franklin expedition and how well preserved some of the few bodies found were. Interesting and sad story.

Lacking unlimited internet in my former home in the woods of Oregon.. I’m now catching up! Skateboarding down Mt. Tabor; ‘Riding with truckers’ across our interstates ..I was virtually hauling coal in Eastern Tennessee just yesterday; 4-wheeling street vehicles ..and plate tectonics.

Love the ‘lock picking lawyer,’ and feel ready for a picking kit! The Hydraulic Press Channel can be a blast 🙂 Go-to music videos, of course... Stephen Colbert, & SNL snipits. Just peeked, I’m in the middle of a “description of how the gears in a 1936 transmission work’ … Am I bored, and snowed in? Yes ~

I’m 3K away from ..home due to that pending earthquake, and in duration, it will be far worse than Japan’s. Damn it! Otherwise, I’d be looking out over Tillamook, Yaquina, or Coos Bay/s. Had to drive over 300 miles one-way to see & hear a Gull … and have not seen one for nearly two years..

Loving my Appalachian home and new neighbors, though … and, it’s a dry snow 🙂

It is a big rabbit hole.....

Lately I have been watching a lot of Seth Andrews The Thinking Atheist podcast, or a lot of competitive Tetris. Sometimes I also like watching trickshot pool. The channel Today I Found Out is also good. Or marble tracks

Like you, I gravitate towards ships on storm-tossed seas and tsunamis. I also enjoy big-wave surfing, and trials and cross-country motorcycling.

Have you heard of the wave organ? There's one in Croatia and one in San Francisco. Uses the waves interactions to make sound. Way cool! That's another fun one, strange musical instruments

Bushcraft and primitive/amish living tips, home improvement, in the past some gaming videos, and lots of zombie weapon crafting/blade forging n metallurgy type stuff. Or martial arts weapons. Whatever Im trying to figure out and get better at at the time. Haven't tried any smelting or forging yet but I desperately want to get some tools together to start. Would have to make a homemade crucible and a firepit forge but I've got some ideas how to start.

I totally get the attraction to forging steel. ???

@Flyingsaucesir yep always loved bowie knives machetes axes n tomahawks, would be incredibly satisfying to make them.

I’ve lost track of how many steel items I’ve watched forged into blades … from a pile of razor blades ..to a chunk of suspension leaf spring! ...onto sharpening and custom wood or leather handles 😉
