Can't believe that anyone in 2018 could make this argument. Apparently a woman made a similar argument. It's basic biology, people. Ugh.

And what planet is he from?

What a sexist, ignorant fool! Go crawl back under the rock you came from.

"Men are the superior sex and they don't have periods because we know how to look after our bodies..."

There should be a river of blood running down below these guys!

You sure this wasn't meant as a joke?

I hope that's the case. But where I first saw it treated it as a serious post and, as a biology professor, he's come across this kind of ignorance before.

Hope this jerk gets kidney stones and someone tells him it's purely somatic and he just needs to get over himself.

If anyone believes this, it's an obvious failure of education. If anyone finds it amusing, they have failed at satire.

No wonder so many women are up in arms. Fools like this only show how stupid (it goes way beyond merely ignorant) some men are. Thank tRump and the conservatives for upturning the rocks these guys crawled out from.,

Another one for the scrapheap.

An obviously ignorant rant. What’s the source?

I commented above; thought about linking to the Facebook page where I found it, but that page was not the source of the post.

Who ever wrote that load of drivel IS most definitely NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer.

3

An obvious case of trolling ... major league~!

I read it at PZ Myers' blog, Pharyngula, and followed it to a Facebook page that commented on it. Both Myers and the Facebook post where I found it discussed it as a serious (and ignorant) post. Myers commented that he's had to explain basic biology before. I can't believe that anyone who gets to or out of high school (without some sort of mental impairment -- I hate using the word in this case as anyone who thinks this has serious mental issues, regardless of having an IQ above room temperature) can think that menstruation can be stopped by something other than heavy exercise, pregnancy, some forms /uses of birth control, or menopause.

3

It may have been meant as facetious. If not, they are ignorant of basic biology.

3

Oh, the ignorance!

I imagine if he were a health care professional he would have the bedside manner of Ilse Koch.

Whenever I see bullshit that extreme, I pull out one of these two gems.
The Professor Quirrel one is even better if you read it the way he screamed it in the movie ?

Hey, we have people who believe you can’t get pregnant if you are raped unless you want to get pregnant, believe the crap Trump says, think the earth is flat and the moon landing did not happen. Why are you surprised?

2

I suspect a sea lion awaiting his next victims. Kind of an advanced form of trolling.

2

The most likely explanation I can conjure for this tripe is that the author is a troll who thinks he can whip up some fury with this ignorant bullshit. Seriously, the combination of strident language and utter ignorance seems calibrated just to raise the collective blood pressure as much as possible.

WTabsoluteF! Wanna bet this person is an anti-vaxxer & very probably an FEer, too! The level of stupid!!!

That guy has been listening to far too much of Jordan Peterson!!!

Someone remind me why it's wrong to expedite the inevitable?

That is funny. Thanks. Sarcasm at its best.
