The last thing I expect is to persuade any 'we's'. That would be a waste of time and so would persuading those who are blind followers already. The goal is to disclose to those without partisan blinders that rejecting theology and gods is only a step toward independence.

When they are shown the level of sycophantic groupism and fearful clinging to ignorance on the part of other atheists, it helps them to understand how, as I like to put it, our overseers have more than one home and that there is no functional difference between political and theological fanaticism..

Asinine, defensive and highly emotional responses to satire and humor are one of the best ways to show them those parallels. Thank you and the other 'we's'! Couldn't do it without you.

The first rule of comedy: Know your audience

However based on your title it was obvious you just wanted to stir the pot. I expected so when I read the post. It's not a bad way to go btw. You will receive much more negative feedback than just posting safe topics. However any reply is a good reply for you in the points scheme of things. You used key words to get under your audience's skin (ex. Lack of intelligence, group think, Pentecostal). Which was smart move on your part. You're not going win an argument, or make friends, that way but you will get a few points based on upset users who respond to you. Then again you may just actually think your post wasn't going to be seen negatively. I doubt it though, I assume you are smarter than that. Either way here are your points for someone replying to you.

@McWalsoft Thanks for the kind contribution. I've been participating here for about a year and if I was chasing points my level would have been above this long ago. I can afford $20 for a t-shirt.

My motives for stirring are to stir alright, but not as one might think of as the end game. It's actually not. It is both fun, like poking sticks at 'Bedlam' and an illustrative aid. To those targeted by ridicule or satirical barbs now and then it is taken as simply trolling and annoying. To those sharing whatever perspective is represented it is hilarity.

Persuasion isn't necessary for the 'choir' nor is it possible among the faithful of the object. Others read these posts and many more than partisans might think, are seeking new perspectives. We all share pasts anchored in this or that 'ism'; usually just a part of early indoctrination. Rejecting one ism is only a step on the path to freedom. We instinctively seek both group and individual identity, but they kill the latter as soon as possible; creating a semi-conscious secondary craving for security in groups that infects our intellect.

Disclosing functional parallels via illustration opens eyes, not of the blind, but of the seeking. DaVinci classified people in three categories that are very accurate. "Those who see; those who see when they are shown and those who do not see." Comedy is but one way to 'be shown'. Compared to others it is more pleasurable.

Fanatics who blindly agree with or oppose with boundless emotion are like a punch line to those with open eyes AND they are both funny and revealing to the non-affiliated; to the free. Without them
it would only be laughter at the post.
