Which one makes you feel the worst?

  1. Is written in the Bible.
  2. I'll pray for you.
  3. Love the sinner no the sin
  4. I don't judge...god does
  5. God loves everybody.
  6. You can't prove god doesn't exist.
  7. We were all made in god likeness
  8. God wants us to forgive
  9. Without god you will never be happy.
  10. God directed the hands of those writing the Bible.

None of them make me feel bad, they just make me think the ones spouting such drivel are intellectually bankrupt. A complete lack of critical thinking is all one demonstrates if they think any of that is intelligent or profound. I'm no great philosopher, but I can see vapid bullshit from a continent away.

4

None of them make me feel bad, because I know they're all bullshit.
I pity those still in the throes of religious delusion and I don't take their stupid little sayings seriously.

I feel exactly the same

4

None of them make me feel bad. Some are at least response-worthy, while the others are too stupid to bother with.

#7 is one of my favorite notions to ridicule. On one level it is laugh out loud absurd. But on a more fundemental level it is sad to see so many fellow human beings have such tiny little minds locked in a tiny little box.....desperately trying to compensate for their existential insecurity.

None. I don't care what those morons say.

3

Well, they all suck, but none make me feel bad. It is like when my 3 year old first born child yelled at me that she hated me. I had to bite my cheek to keep from laughing. The passion and the energy that she experienced at that moment was so cute! And I'd tell the speaker of any of those line, "Hey, it will be OK, you'll get over it."

2

Sometimes number 4 makes my eyes roll so hard it hurts and that I guess makes me feel bad lol

4 is definitely the worst!

2

To be honest, none. I just quote the bible back at them and they quite frankly lose their voice. I don't feel worse at all because my questioners know that I did my homework.

Unless it's at work. Then I tell them it's none of their business.

2

"Without god you will never be happy."

So condescending!

These don’t make me feel bad at all. They fill me with rage bc I hate when Christians go around stuffing their sky daddy rhetoric down everyone else’s throats. It’s pushy and presumptuous and oh so rude.

1

Number 6. I get that argument all the time.

The burden of proof is on them to prove their imaginary friend exists. They know this, but always try to shift that burden onto nonbelievers.

1

They all make me nauseous.

1

I just turn and walk away!

1

God loves everybody which is why he might send you to hell.

1

"Without god you will never be happy." Ftttt. Does this mean all people who believe in god are happy 24/7? We all have our happy days and our not so happy days, including god believers.

1

I just change the subject. Usually that changes the course of the discussion. Once in a while I will continue the discussion but that usually is only if the chair is comfortable, the night is long, and there is a beer or two near.

All of the above makes me perplexed that people are still living in the Bronze Age.
And I really hate when someone says, "I'm a person of faith" as if being gullible and willfully ignorant is something to be proud of.

Everything happens for a reason. Fuck. You. Of COURSE everything happens for a reason! It's called causality, you numb, mewling fuck. That's nearly as dumb as spouting that lackwit philosophy, 'it is what is'. Could It be what it isn't?! No! Soap-bubble profundity enraged me!

Sorry, you hit a 'go-psycho-and-lose-your-shit' button lol

My sister has "it is what it is" tattooed on her. Personally, I want to punch her everytime she says it.

Since I was raised in a twisted/warped environment with religious trappings, most of them do. Now, as I work on my recovery from a disciplinarian childhood, I realize that none of these should. The list is a list of statements from a twisted unrealistic perspective.

0

None of them make me feel bad. They are all easily refutable. You almost feel sorry for the person who feels they have to use these phrases. They all show a lack of critical thinking.

0

None of the above, I get a chuckle from them.

0

I'll pray for you.

That's the one that annoys me

@duchessa me too.

  1. Praying only serves the one praying as it has a meditative effect on the person praying.
