Oh crap! I was in that situation last year. Good luck in your recovery.

Your like the bionic woman! How long is it going to be before you begin therapy?

@SaucyCheryl Cool. They don't like to wait around like they used to.

0

I hope it don't interfere with your dancing lessons. ?

0

Well that looks painful ?

@SaucyCheryl Best advice I can give you is to stay ahead of the pain with your medication.
Seriously though don’t wait until it hurts.

Hope it heals well so you’ve got dexterity

As one who also suffers from degenerative arthritic disease, what do they replace the finger joints with? I know hips and knees have metal parts, and toes have pins (or at least that's all I got, LOL). What is in your joint now?

@SaucyCheryl Cool! Good luck on a speedy and full recovery. Research your new joint through government, educational, and medical sites. Not all replacement metal is safe, I am finding out.

@SaucyCheryl Wow!

@SaucyCheryl Wow again!

@SaucyCheryl So are you gong to be a bionic woman? Another left hand injury. Remind me and I will show you my colorful cast. You will need lots of therapy. I am working on my 5th month and, although progress is being made there is still a long way to go but you can do it.

@SaucyCheryl Wasn't she the bionic woman? Have you heard of Physiopedia [physio-pedia.com]? My hand therapist recommended this to me and I have seen several instances it does work. I practice it twice a day. Sound kind of strange but it makes sense. Here is my colorful splint (I think the colors are for kids - this is the color of my car). It was removable so I could exercise. There were 3 pins in my hand so the splint protected the hand.

@SaucyCheryl Please keep us posted on your progress. My therapist has all kinds of helpful tips and maybe I can pass some on.

@SaucyCheryl One good thing about my accident is that I have learned a lot about hands. I want to share some of that knowledge if I can.

Happy to learn you are well. Rest and drink plenty of water.

@SaucyCheryl drink probably the atropine. So drink.

@SaucyCheryl ice water is best. Colder the better.

I feel for you. No knitting ,playing slide guitar or washing dishes.

@SaucyCheryl That would be my plan, too.

What's the story?

@SaucyCheryl Well I hope you have a speedy recovery!!

@SaucyCheryl nails look good though! ?

@SaucyCheryl The last few days my thumb has just been giving me hell. It hurts almost all the time and if I move it just the right way I almost cry. I am hoping not to go down your path, but Aleve just isn't cutting it. I hope you heal fast and have a complete and quick recovery. If you have any troubles that will scare me off that treatment.

@SaucyCheryl I have to remember to switch loads to the left hand so I can grip doorknobs with the right. I've dealt with this for over a year, when does that become long term memory. I got mine from my dad's mom. She was born in 1905 and was 5'11". Ya think any of the girls could get the height? Oh hell no. We all got the arthritis in the left thumb.
