I used to be paranoid. Now, I'm only worried about the people who are after me.

No. Don't overestimate your importance.

Assume you’re being watched. Put on a good show.. just keep it legal!

There are cameras attached to the stop light wiring at intersections . There are security cameras in all major stores , shopping malls and their parking lots , hospitals , office buildings , airports , train and bus stations , bridges and toll roads , tourist sites , and public areas . Hackers can get into your computers and phones , and view and/or listen to your conversations at will . The question is not IF you're being watched . The question becomes , is there anything interesting enough about you , to require tracking you . Most of us lead very boring lives , and aren't worth , "following ." At this point , most of the survalence systems are not interconnected , which makes it more labor intensive for law and government forces . I do think that that's soon to be corrected as technical advancements constantly increase the power of computers - think cloud . The capability is here , it's just a matter of making the connections and adjusting the software to make it compatible . I've read that baby monitors parents put in the children's rooms have been hacked . So what makes you think the security cameras you have installed in your home can't be ?

Paranoia in a pure form is simply a heightened awareness. We should all have that. Animals have that.

when i believed in god (until age 15) i did, and it was comforting. i never believed in a god who wanted me to behave a certain way or not behave a certain other way, and heaven and hell just aren't part of judaism, so he was basically a witness, and as i was a lonely and abused child, i needed a witness. i was sorry to lose him but it just became quite apparent he was fictional, and there were so many more interesting fictional characters to pretend were with me, i just didn't need this particular one anymore. now, as far as i know the cia isn't paying me any mind, but i HAVE a file with the fbi... or i did. i don't know how long they keep such things. i got ahold of mine through the freedom of information act and the item in it that stood out to me was "she reads books but she's friendly." as if reading books was a bad thing, or caused antisocial behavior or some such thing!
