WHAT TEAMS DO YOU HATE AND WHY?

For me, as a Michigan alum and fan, it's mich st and ohio st.
Having had tough series with my Pistons in the 80s, I hate the Celtics and Lakers.
Just have to hate the yankees for having too much money and buying teams...
and just randomly hate Alabama and Duke...for always being good of course

I grew up in the SF Bay area and have been a Raiders fan since way back. (Eagles now, I live in Philly) So I hate the Steelers. I admired the organization, just hated the team. I love the drama they've inflicted in themselves these days.

I also hate the Denver Broncos. I always thought John Elway was the most physically gifted QB I'd ever seen, but he had a 3 cent head. He won two Super Bowls because the coach throttled him back and hand the ball to Terrel Davis.

I was also a Giants fan, so I hated the Dodgers. And love the Yankees, because your enemies enemy is your friend and they beat the Dodgers a couple of times in the World Series.

The only sport I like is hockey. The NHL team I hate the most is The Canucks. I don't really know why, may be because I used to live in Vancouver and I hate that city now. I also don't like The Penguins (can't stand Sidney Crosby), The Flames (battle of Alberta, you know), and The Red Wings (they just play like thugs and brutes).

@maturin1919 Tell me how you really feel. LOL.

ummm the Red Wings haven't had a "brute" since Probert...perhaps you've confused them with another team with red jerseys--if you check the stats the Wings usually have the least hits.

@lerlo I don’t like watching them since I went to a live game. So may be they aren’t brutish anymore I don’t know. Still don’t care for them.

No hate. In order to hate, you have to care.

Hatred of sports teams seem to follow a pattern. The closer you are in area and rivalry, the more vitriol involved. Kinda like the bird feeder I had. Great tits would be fine with nut hatches and robins but not common tits. Same goes for religions. Sunni - shia, catholic - protestant there is even a cave in scotland where presbyterians burnt over 200 baptists to death.
It is a shame that you yanks don't do international sports that much. Getting behind your national team goes a long way to heal rifts.
PS. Liverpool fan so it has to be Manchester united

nothing like a filibuster...thanks for getting to the point eventually and by the way us "Yanks" DO support our national teams but when they play once every 4 years we need something else to do. p.s. we don't kill or burn our rival sports teams, perhaps you're in a time warp

@lerlo Well if you played real competitive sports like soccer, rugby or cricket then there would be no end of international events you could get into Atm England is in the west indies getting thrashed at cricket but we beat Ireland in the 6 nations at rugby.
Add to this there are the team competitions like the champions league. It throws rivalries into disarray when your hated team is playing a foreign one for international honors

@273kelvin your "real competitive sports" comment speaks volumes...as for who to root for when your hated team plays for international honors it depends on how loyal you are to your "hate."

@lerlo Yes it does throw up some good ethical and moral questions. Who would you root for if the Yankees played Yokohama BayStars?

@273kelvin no morals, no ethics, Yokohama if it's an exhibition game, if they're playing for the world championship the Yankees

@lerlo My favorite schadenfreude. I was heading down south on the motorway (freeway) about 10 miles out of Manchester. United has played in Moscow the night before and fans were returning back from the game. The game had united on top until last when Moscow equalised then went on to win on penalties. As we drove the opposite lanes were deadlocked. I mean the queues were so bad people were out of their cars and sitting on the barriers. It was priceless, not only had they gone all that way to lose like that but 10 miles from home and theyre stuck in a coach going nowhere fast

I hate my high school football team, because 40 years ago the coach never let me play. "Screw you Laramie Plainsmen!!"

We got ours playing rugby. The bastard had us running around in feb too many times. So we all agreed. When he played we would tackle him and then we all piled on.
We broke his watch ha ha

NFL - Cowboys and Steelers.
MLB - Yankees and Braves
NBA - Celtics and Lakers
NHL - Bruins and Devils

All my favorite teams are from the same city. Can you guess which one?

i hate sports

NCAA: I don't hate Louisville, but they're like an annoying little brother. I hate Duke, still hate Laettner and fuck Tennessee.

NFL: The Packers have the dumbest name and fanbase in the league.

NBA: I only follow individual players, so I don't really have anyone

MLB: Like most of America, fuck the Yankees.

Soccer: I got more joy out of watching the US beat Mexico in Mexico than I did out of losing my virginity.

We can talk about sports all day and I will never get tired. I love sports. All kinds!

NCAA (football) - Love my Texas Longhorns. I HATE Alabama! So glad they got their a××es kicked by Clemson! I can't stand The Sooners either!
NCAA (women's basketball) Baylor Lady Bears. Love my girls!

NFL Teams I can't stand: New Yuck Giants! The Philadelphia Eagles, Redskins, and The Cheating Patriots! I'm a die hard Dallas Cowboys Fan, but I support the Houston Texans as well.

NBA, The Warriors are overrated, but I love their head coach, Steve Kerr. I love my San Antonio Spurs, Mavs, and Rockets.

MLB - Love My Texas Rangers and Astros. Can't stand The Yankees!

MLS - I LOVE Chelsea FC, Bayern Munich FC, and Mexico National. I can't stand Manchester United!

Etc... NHL - Hockey, I'd have to date a guy who likes it enough for me to watch. Otherwise, I like The Blackhawks & Stars

And all the unnecessary hate is exactly why I don't watch sports. I don't need more people to hate and I need flimsy reasons to do so even less.
