I just read a disturbing post from one of our Agnostic Ladies whom I have great respect for.
I'm not amazed, but disheartened by her recent experience with anti-semitic nonsense.
I've no Jewish roots or heritage so, when hearing this stuff, I'm more puzzled than maddened. The two most common insults I hear are:
"Christ Killers" and "Jew Science". And I hear these from well educated folk, usually successful in life, and scarily, in positions of authority. And, almost always from Christians.
I've even, in the past, asked these folk to explain what these terms mean. The results are pretty un-nerving.

Jews are not the Christ killers, WE are the Christ killers!
I don't hate any human group, but I have seen that any social group or culture that normally socialize among themselves only and marry only among themselves too -you have to give up your faith to enter theirs- do not tend to be seen well by other peoples, no matter which group, culture it is or where they come from...it's human nature?

The oddest thing about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, is that they were all founded on Sumerian creation myths, all originated in the same part of the World. And all were founded by guys who lived in the desert too long, chewed too much khat, and smoked too much weed. With so much in common, why can't they all get along?

Yep. They are out there. It is up to us to hold the line for freedom & justice for all. A man I really admire here also revealed himself to be unsupportive of Israel, the ONLY democracy in the area.

@OwlInASack The treatment of the "Palestinians" is a response to the continued suicide bombers& missiles being launched by Hamas hothead 20 somethings, which controls Gaza. Vowing to "drive them into the sea" since May 15th 1945, the Gaza guys have never stopped the harassment . Thousands of years of Judaic history brought to a halt as the Judaics are displaced once again from Russia to Libya but now have a permanent homeland. Share this planet.

@OwlInASack ?

@Countrywoman There NEVER was a country named 'Israel' UNTIL AFTER W.W.II when the Balfour Accord came into being and the land, now known as Israel was STOLEN from the original peoples knowns as the Palestinians.
Just as the Native American Indians fought to retain their own Tribal Lands against the land-grabbing European Settlers the Palestinians are fighting to regain their Identity, Rights and Freedoms from the Jewish Invaders.

The Jewish - Palestinian War was begun by the Jewish Invaders in late 1947-early 1948 when antagonistic Jewish Zealots in a number of settlements agitated and stirred the settlers into hostile actions against their Palestinian neighbors.
The whole then then escalated and has since continued with the U.S.A, being one of the prime suppliers of both financial and ordnance support, etc, for the Jewish side of the war.

Report to Admin if it happened on here.
If on FB, you can also report, but, frankly, I kicked the FB addiction about a year ago, and do not miss it at all?

Neither possibility applies here. Even worse, it apparently was/is a real life situation.

@bigpawbullets I firmly blame Cheeto for the loss of common courtesy & ordinary politeness that was the norm just a couple of years ago! SHAMEFUL!

It pretty much stems from the claim that the Jewish people are God’s one and only people.
And to be honest I could see how that would effect the rest of the world.

I actually witnessed alt guys telling black and other minorities at their rally in Charlottesville that they as whites are the only true people and that everyone else is some form of animal. My friends looked hurt beyond belief and it killed them to not let their anger take over.

But the whole concept of the Jewish people being the chosen ones also gives favor the idea that Jesus was created by the Romans to undermine them and eventually to turn people from Judaism to the martyr that was Jesus.

And the Catholic Church perpetrated the idea and sadly the Nazis perpetuated it as so the klan in America.
And even though I feel that it’s wrong for people to be attacked for their beliefs i in no way support the preface of any faith that claims that they’re the righteously chosen when in their history their faith was born from the deceit that was perpetrated by it’s founder and his grandson.

Well just about all religions claim to the the "one true faith" & the "chosen people" is just another way to say that. Thus is why & am anti religion tho it be a system by which to control masses of hoooooomans.

I may have seen that post as well, and my reaction is similar to yours: a kind of sad/angry amazement that those ideas are still around and have any traction in the modern world.

I hear you. I’m from NC, and the Jewish population is relatively small compared to xtians. My own daughter attended Belmont Abbey, a Catholic university. In her Econ classes, she says she “learned” that ‘Jews control everything. Finance, Hollywood...’ I tried to reason with her but to no avail. I told her she had become a paranoid conspiracy theorist, racist, and anti-Semite. She stayed angry at me for months.
I can’t believe-don’t want to-that a college professor is ‘teaching’ this garbage.

@Elganned oh nooo, I quit listening and made my objections strongly known. Now if she still thinks that way, she’s keeping it to herself in front of me.

I find it amazing how many Jews have contributed to the betterment of humanity, within the science field, and have great admiration for them, but I consider the racist Zionists to be no better than the Nazis.

I'm really unfamiliar with the Israeli / Zionist situation other than what I see from both conservative and liberal leaning news sources. So, I'm not going to comment on that. Radicalism on any side is usually not a good thing.
