Doing something romantic should be more spontaneous that a single day out of the year. One party or the other should do something nice for the other. I would rather go out on any other evening than VD -- too crowded.

If at all possible, I try to unattached on Feb 14. Who needs all those expectations?

No, I don't celebrate, because I never had a partner/girlfriend during that time. So, I see no point in it. To those who do, have fun.

A few years ago I hand delivered a Valentine to each of my two daughters. I did not tell them that I was stopping by so neither of them opened the door. The next day they both called me and were so happy that I brought them cards. Now they expect me to deliver them a Valentine on Valentine's day. I got each of them a card today and will be delivering them after work on Thursday.

Out of respect of my my wife of 35 years I most certainly do .We will go to a local vegetarian restaurant of her choice even though I am not one .I enjoy this type of food anyway.
