I often wonder if life for most people is pleasant. I really wonder what the norm is. When you're seeing happy people, are you just catching them in the moments in between?

Depends on who you're talking about. There are millions who can barely scrape together enough to eat. I seriously doubt "pleasant" comes to their minds much.

I don't think everyone's gonna have their life figured out so they're just enjoying life in the moment. I wish we all could do that

I can tell you there is norm for happyness. Some people are way more happy than others. I am on the less happy scale. My wife is on the happy side of the scale. Maybe that is why we have commedians. Another thing for mood is that it changes with time as do the reflections of our mind🙂

I think for the most part life is pleasant, but shit happens.

Life must be hell more many people, warzones, famine etc. By comparison, I live in paradise. Yeah, I have problems, but for the moment they are not so big, not as big as they have been.

Very rare to find anybody who has no worries doubts or some life regrets , the trick is find a quiet part of your brain to bury it all.either that or get wasted

I sometimes think some people are happier than other people, but I can't compare because everyone has a different background, temperment, etc. Everyone's path is different and unique and just as valid. As I've gotten older, I've also seen that a lot of people are very good at hiding their sadness, as if this is somehow some sort of weakness. The more I can accept my own sadness, actually the happier I am, because I don't have to jump through hoops to hide it.

Everyone has their moments and moods. Are you really asking if people are inherently happy or sad?

I have been very Very unhappy for large parts of my life and I am now Very happy going on 6 years now, and even happier because I know enough to be able to know the difference! Lots of almost-giddy moments every day, full of appreciation and wonder! May you all be so lucky!

I think that life is just moments. That's all we can really ask for. Nothing is permanent, and the happiest people seem to know that and have made peace with it.

I think that you would be very surprised, at the struggles most people have...a lot of the time! They do not happen very minute...so most people put on their 'public face,' when they go out into society. I have tried to not put onto society...my suffering! But, there have been times, when I was out and about and expressing my frustration and anger. I would say most people try to forget their troubles when they go out into society. They need that relief, in order to keep their sanity! I have had long periods of time, that things went smoothly. But, I simply don't know anybody, who have had a perfectly charmed life! I do know people, who could handle their frustration and calamities better than others. I myself have gotten better with handling my heartaches and physical/emotional pains. But, there are always challenges.

Happiness is a myth, like God or the G-Spot.

I always thought the G-Spot was fictional, or a myth. Until it was found. I can tell you it is not fictional or a myth.

Probably the largest flaw we have as humans is to see something and think that it is “normal”. We always look at people and think they are happy, rich, nice.... we envy what we don’t know. We think we know, but we don’t! This why we are shocked when someone snaps! When you feel this way understand that there is no normal. Everyone is happy, sad, mean, nice, rich, poor. Life could be better for everyone on the spectrum. Use your time to enlighten who you can and try not to waste time on who you can’t. Also understand that no matter what you think you can only change you! If you want a different life change yourself!

To me "normal" is being who you are. However if who you are is a serial killer that is not going to turn out well for some people.
