I don’t think that is an accurate statement as I’ve seen some....although I will concede that the White Anglo Saxon types seem to be in the majority. Can’t really say why though.

I guess they don't feel compelled to jump up make you aware of their presence simply because you demand it.

I have seen/chatted with a few black folks here. Not sure how you would “search” for them.

Well if we are going to make sweeping statements ( I mean do people have to announce their blackness? Because how would you even know? I wouldn't) anyway I'll make generalisations for which there has been supporting research.

The poorest, most uneducated countries tend to be the most religious. Perhaps amid all the bleakness of their lives they desperately need something to hope for, something that will let them endure this life for the hope of a better life after death.

So if follows that the poorest, most disadvantaged demographic, would again be the most religious.

Other studies indicate that the greater the education, the more likely one is to be atheist. I should source these studies and if you want me too I will. But if you dispute them you really should do your own research.

there is a black athiest Muslim woman who runs an organization that helps Muslim women who wish to leave their religion and or husbands or family since it is considered blasphemy and death is the penalty. I went to a meeting in Worcester, Ma in order to meet and speak with this very brave young woman. For obvious reasons, I won't give her name or post the picture.

We have a number of black members. They just are selective about how and when they participate. Blacks are definitely underrepresented. Discussions about why have been bandied about on more than one occasion. Usually without their participation.
