Im starting to feel like I have to hide who I am again. LIke I should hide the fact that Im agnostic and almost completely atheist. Like I should not discuss my views on abortion. Like I should not tell people I go to a UU church. LIke I have to explain to people why Im a single mom with two female housemates. LIke I shouldnt speak up for LGBT and black lives matter. Why I should be anything but a SJW liberal snowflake. What happens when your society turns you into the pariah? What is the solution here?

I know it's hard, but when good people do nothing the assholes win. Don't give up. Don't quit. It may take time, but religion and superstition is slowly dying, and hopefully the ignorance that they've introduced will disappear too.

Why do you have to explain anything to anyone? It's not their business what you believe or how you live.

You cannot give up on what you stand for or against. None of us are required to do that! So much in our social order is being turned inside out, which creates doubt in all of us, it sure does for me! It seems there is so much needed to be fought for, that it can create a feeling of hopelessness. We must guard against trying to take on everything that needs fixing...it can’t be done. But, what we can do is stand and speak in our truth. There may not be much that we can do, to change the ideas these trump type cultist are helping to promote. But, quitely and firmly we can stand in truth and sound reasoning, that we can do. Let your resolve support you, and share with others your concerns. There are many people in your same position, but we want cave!

The solution is pretty straight forward but still laden with all sorts of pitfalls that I think most people aren't even aware of. First of all, If you believe in something and adamantly support it, by all means, support it. Just make sure you do it in a way that is civil and reasonable. We all like to get emotionally charged over things that frankly, we are privileged to even be able to complain about. Not utilizing that privilege puts you at a disadvantage over opponents who do.

You probably feel like you are being attacked from all angles by a society that more or less doesn't agree with you. Remember that civil disagreement is not a problem. Not being able to support your own position on any mater is a problem. This is the same thing as taking something based on faith rather than evidence. If your position proves superior, then it will become self evident. You should also try to take other viewpoints into consideration, both for the purpose of augmenting your own beliefs and to find holes and counterpoints in other peoples viewpoints. On some fundamental level, all people are exactly the same and want the same things. We only disagree on how those things should be achieved, because of different circumstance.

Is a white male over 40 I have to constantly prove that I'm not a racist that's a real thing
you should Express Yourself but remember the price of virtue isn't cheap there will be consequences. you mentioned that you have two female roommates, the implication is that you're sleeping with them that's okay if that's the case in fact it's kind of sexy.
