My daughter's science teacher believes in God, magic etc. She had a yarn doll that she had made. He saw it and asked her to put it away. He called her to his desk to warn her of the dangers of messing around with Voodoo magic! My daughter lost so much respect for him as a science teacher.
Another mentality ill religious dogma lover!
A science teacher, I would say a mental case who should not be around young people!
Seriously??!
OMG, FFS and whatever other abbreviations of disbelief there might be.
If this is a private or public school....it's time to discuss this with the administration! It's outrageous and should be stopped!
My favorite lesson from one of my high school science teachers..."What's a four letter word for the word intercourse?" Answer: talk
Of course, we went for the four letter word for sexual intercourse! Definitely not "talk"!
A scientist. Scared of a bunch of yarn. Seriously. What the actual fuck?
He's not very professional.
That's an understatement! He's downright WEIRD and certainly deserves to be given a new assignment....say....cleaning toilets somewhere?
And rightly so. People of our education system should not force their beliefs on our childern.
Word! Voodoo is bullshit like the rest of the supernatural shit. If it were real, wouldn't the guys practicing it in the islands be able to generate great wealth with it?
That is sad indeed! In this case, I think I would clear it up with your daughter, but if a similar situation happens again, I would write a letter of complaint to the Principal. The reason that I would have this approach is these people are everywhere and he may be able to teach science by the book, for now. Where was he educated? Why/how did this person choose Science, we ask? Somehow, we must learn how to cope with this kind of personality.
Get a bunch of stickers printed with his face in lots of sizes. "Our favorite science teacher." His face will be everywhere, including on yarn dolls. He will know he is being haunted by christian demons.
But, maybe he will get way crazy and get violent or something.
I'd hazard a guess that he IS already "way, way crazy" to start with BUT you'd be right that he might go even further over the edge and become violent so I'd just suggest that he be sedated, put in a Straight-Jacket and left alone in a padded room until the Rapture comes and takes him away.
I don't know how old this little girl is , but but it would be both difficult and dangerous for her , to stand her against an adult male , with no in class support for her , for the rest of the year . Secondly , because he does not want her messing with an imaginary religious beliefs , does not mean he believes in them . Kids can get themselves in trouble , like the two girls who murdered a third , in order to please their concept of the thin man . He wasn't real , but they didn't believe that . I don't even know if the murder was real . Can never tell for sure .
My daughter is 12. She knows that we keep our beliefs private. She is mellow and very grounded. She just nodded her head and came home and told me. We laughed a little bit blew it off. I be added a pic of the doll in comments.
