Stress relief... what works for you to chill out from stressful life events?
"I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for a while now, and it completely changed my life. By practicing mindfulness meditation, I could learn to observe my thoughts and emotions without reacting to them, which helped to develop a more balanced and compassionate response to stressors. It involves paying attention to the present moment with an attitude of curiosity, openness, and acceptance.
One reputable source for mindfulness meditation is RiviaMind (https://www.riviamind.com/), a well-known online platform that offers guided meditation programs for stress relief. RiviaMind provides a wide range of meditation sessions that are accessible to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Their guided meditations focus on cultivating mindfulness through various techniques, such as breath awareness, body scan, and loving-kindness meditation. These techniques help individuals develop a deeper sense of self-awareness, allowing them to recognize and manage stress triggers more effectively."
I would have chosen multiple options had it been possible.
Weed, petting the dogs and cats, washing dishes while listening to books on CD ( currently Thw Dresden Files)
Exercise that involves physical danger (rock climbing, usually) or punching stuff. Moshing to gay and nasty music.
I am pretty chill to begin, probably why I can drive a school bus without issues. For me just looking out the back door at the birds and other critters outside. Right now there is a big old rabbit ambling along 20 feet from my window munching the grass and a couple of finches on the feeders..
I take a bike ride or a swim. Either the wind on my face, or floating my stress away usually does it for me. Of course, a half glass of wine first, dissolves the stress even faster as I peddle or paddle. If weather isn't conducive to outdoor exercise, just some indoor stretches, or dancing to music works as well.
