Political Correctness IS bigotry: intolerance screamed at other's ideas. Demanding such be made law is tyranny.

PC is blasphemy for a secular age.

Fun fact about your foolish outraged PC post:

Jacar is right. Political correctness is the reason why liberals won’t call out and criticize Muslim depravity the way they call out and criticize Christian depravity.

2

Oh, Jacar....what is now called "political correctness" was, just a few years ago, calle COMMON COURTESY. You know, the idea that it was damned nasty to hurt people with words...?

I used to torment my now dead mother with PC ideas about her favorite show. I told her it would be re-named "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Person."

Here's how free speech works....

Free speech protects your right to say any damn fool thing that comes out of your filthy, disgusting mouth. It does NOT protect you from the consequences of your words beyond your right to not be threatened, coerced or assaulted in any way, shape or form. Conversely, it does not allow YOU to threaten, coerce or incite to assault as a part of expressing your viewpoints.

So, let's say you go online and engage in a long winded, racist and misogynistic rant against minorities and women. After which, the rest of the online community proceeds to rip you a couple of new assholes and make you look like the fool you clearly are. You have no right to cry foul because the large majority of the community thinks you're a prick and Isn't afraid to tell you why.

You are correct about one thing though. Mandating speech isn't something we advocate for in the free world and we never should. Countries like North Korea can keep their thought police. We don't want anything to do with that shit here.

Speech is already controlled in many developed nations, including mine, though. For instance hate speech in public is illegal where I live. We are far from a north korean regime and outperform and do better than America in many ways.

The problem is when that so called “Political correctness” is against all the vilifications you want to be able to spout.

“Political correctness” isn’t a law telling you what you can and can’t say. It is acknowledging that words have impact and basically asking people not to be assholes to each other. Or,’if you insist on being an asshole, that you are going to be held accountable for it. You still have the right to say whatever you want. And the rest of the world has the right to tell you you’re a racist/sexist/bigot/jackass etc.

Calling out bigots is not a form of bigotry. There's a difference between ideas and racism or sexism.

And although hate speech is legally free speech, when it turns to urging action it is not; any more than is shouting "Fire!" in a theater. Speech meant to incite violence is a crime, not a free exchange of ideas.

Wrong! Those that fight against reasoable PC the loudest are usually the biggest abusers. Their objection stems from a selfish desire to be boorish and inappropriate and not to be expected to respect others differences and sensibilities and not be told what they can or cannot do.

I do agree that PC can be overdone, and it seems that people gave become thin skinned. But in genetal they are justified. Afterall, the boors have been discrimenating, insulting, and dehumanizing these persons for decades, if not Centuries. They finally found themselves in a social setting where it is alright to stand up and drmand respect, and positive recognition.

The anti-PC boors just don't like being called to answer for their boorish and condescending behavior.
