Very true, and it is very similar to another post which made the point that all human disagreements are not about fundamentals, about which we mainly agree, but mainly about not taking enough interest to try and understand someone else's nuances.

Hannah Arendt was a brillianht and principled person, and all of her works are well worth reading.

Interesting, thanks.

The Howard Roark character in Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead" is a good literary example of a man of principle. There is a movie of the book, too.

@Allamanda I think that is a misinterpretation of her work. A man must be an individual if he is to be free. I think it is less about social Darwinism, more about anti-herd mentality

For once, the film is much better - and coherent - than the book. Rand was not a very good writer.

Very interesting article. Nice connection between the mentality of 1939 Germany and the jackass who occupies the Oval Office presently. I was talking with a coworker / jackass supporter this morning. I analogized trump to Cosby. When Mueller said there was 1 offense of obstruction, maybe so maybe no. If Mueller said there were 2 offenses, ehh! When there are 10 offenses, motherfucker you're guilty! Can't wait till July 17, when the real fireworks will go off. Can't wait till assbag is voted out of office and New York has their chance to barbeque his ass in molasses!

What will you do if he is re-elected?

@WilliamFleming Wait 4 more years. Baring any unforeseen circumstances of course.
