never gonna work. deficits & national debt + unfunded liablities way too high & GDP way too low. exact opposite of the 1950s when everyone's standard of living was improving.

@desertastronomer ,
what has my attitude got to do with it? just expressed an opinion. refute it if you can. maybe your optimism will carry the day..

@desertastronomer ,
if you think my pessimism means anything then your convictions are built on shifting sands.

Tax them as in the days of Eisenhower. In those days the rich were rich and we had nice roads and bridges, nice highways, etc. Jobs had benefits for the everyday worker and we used the tax money to take care of everyone. Do that again and add an extra wage earner tax to cover medical care and other needed programs. For those that do not like it and want nothing of it, they can opt out.

I guess if you're too big to fail, you're too big to be ruled and too big to be taxed.

Why pay taxes when you can buy the government and rewrite the laws at your advantage?!

If they were not paying their taxes, the IRS would come after them.

Naive? Satirical? Or...... ?

How about having the billionaires and large corporations pay their damn taxes and use it to pay the deficit.

If they just pay their fair share.......nothing more......

if there was an attempt to pay the deficit the depression that followed would make the 1930s look like a tea party.
