currently reading the book. a fascinating story of the colonisation of the West by European settlers as seen through the eyes of the native people.
It is a bit repetitive though. Settlers make treaty with "indians". Settlers break treaty, battle ensues and on and on until the "Indians" are decimated and the few remaining are pushed into "reservations.
Was not that just deliberate genocide like the trail of tears that they did to my relatives the Cherokee
You right... in the 70's an American Hippie Friend gave me the book "I buried my heart at Wounded Knee". Opened my eyes while living a Colonial Life. I remember a quote from a Native American... "White Man made us many Promises... they only kept one... they promised they will take our land."
