Just wondering... even if people voted a woman into the oval office, do you think they would ever vote in a woman as fat as Trump? I say, no. Women are judged much more harshly on their looks than men, especially professionally.

A Woman would of course vote for another woman for president no matter what she weighed or what she resembled .I think a woman would be more inclined to be swayed by a man’s appearance ,case in point JFK won over Nixon due to Nixons disheveled appearance during the Presidential debate. When it comes to a man judging a woman on her appearance unfortunately that is another story .On the other hand in regards to the visual media many older talented woman have lost their positions because the male low life’s in charge judge them for their looks

Taft was the most obese president.[4] He was 5 feet, 11.5 inches tall and his weight was between 335 and 350 pounds toward the end of his presidency.[5] He is thought to have had difficulty getting out of the White House bathtub, so he had a 7-foot (2.1 m) long, 41-inch (1.04 m) wide tub installed. This tub could accommodate four normal-sized people. It was replaced in 1952 with a modern tub of similar size.[6]

Um
Have you people never seen Margaret Thatcher or Angela Merkel?????

Not sure what point you are trying to make but Margaret Thatcher was not even fat never mind obese and Angela Merkel isn't particularly fat.

@Moravian erm. Yes they are. They are both quite fat. As for never being elected in America, are you under the impression that America=the world?

@OpposingOpposum I watched Angela and Boris walking together on BBC news tonight , I would say both are slightly overweight but who cares.
Margaret thatcher was not fat, you must be confusing her with someone else
Am I under the impression that America = the world ?. no I will leave that to Americans.

Men can be old, fat and bald (or worse have a hairdo that looks like Candyfloss), and still be voted into office. I think it would be almost impossible for a woman who was grossly overweight, old and with a ridiculous hairdo, to be voted into office, especially in the USA, but probably anywhere in the world. We are very sexist when it comes to judging women, and I have to say that women, in my opinion, are just as bad as men in this respect. Mr. Trump looks to me as though he is around 20 Stones (280 lbs), but he could be a little bit more. I was married to a man who was 6’ 6” and 20 Stones...and I’m judging it on that.

Lol at ridiculous hairdo and electability.

Certainly not as vulgar as him. I don't think a woman suggesting to grab them by the dick would have much of a chance.

We don't elect short men to the Oval Office anymore either. At 5'10'' Carter is the shortest President we have had in the era of TV politics. Nixon at 5'11'' was next. The rest have been 6' or taller. I don't think Bloomberg would stand a chance because of that. It's stupid, but this is America. We are a superficial Country. We almost and probably would have a full figured female Governor if Stacey Abrams hadn't gotten screwed.

It is stupid, but by no means is superficiality limited to Americans.

@itsmedammit We do lead the world, and have exported superficiality for over half a century.

@itsmedammit Not but the Americans set the bar and the gold standard!

@Geoffrey51 We do our best!

@itsmedammit Canadians are superficial too : look at our prime minister !! Nothing but looks.

@Nathalie_Quebec I think we invented and exported it. 🙂

I agree that a female prez would need to be or look average weight or even slender to get the approval of most voters. Not fair, but fact. Men are allowed more slack about their looks in politics, tho attractive looking men still have quite an advantage over plain or ugly-looking ones, esp. in races that involve a lot of TV time.

Fat is visually unappealing. Trump, while over weight is not grossly obese. He is, however, the heaviest or most obese of every president since Reagan, I think.

People, no matter gender, who are overweight, are perceived as having less discipline in their lives. That translate to being less capable.

Shrug. I suspect that most CEOs, the majority of accomplished individuals in their 40s and early 50s and, perhaps beyond, are not significantly over weight.

I might differ some on your last point. I have seen at least a few CEOs that were very large and heavy. But I would agree that for most in the corporate world, keeping a healthy, disciplined look is probably very important in moving up the ladder in that world.

@TomMcGiverin A majority is not all. It allows for those who range from heavy to grossly obese.

Wow....you think drump is not "grossly obese"? Oh, you are going by the weight he told his doctor to state..... laughable! He is actually morbidly obese, my guess is 300+ on a good day.

Trump IS grossly obese. You cannot see past your bias.

I think medically speaking he is is morbidly obese.

@NoPlanetB Yes, he is seriously gross.

@OpposingOpposum Wow... you really jumped to a conclusion there bub! And, you’re wrong

@OpposingOpposum, @AnneWimsey, @NoPlanetB, @itsmedammit This is morbidly obese... Trump is not there... yet!

Here is what the CDC has to say about obesity.
Adult Body Mass Index (BMI)
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness.

To calculate BMI, see the Adult BMI Calculator or determine BMI by finding your height and weight in this BMI Index ChartExternal.

If your BMI is less than 18.5, it falls within the underweight range.
If your BMI is 18.5 to <25, it falls within the normal.
If your BMI is 25.0 to <30, it falls within the overweight range.
If your BMI is 30.0 or higher, it falls within the obese range.
Obesity is frequently subdivided into categories:

Class 1: BMI of 30 to < 35
Class 2: BMI of 35 to < 40
Class 3: BMI of 40 or higher. Class 3 obesity is sometimes categorized as “extreme” or “severe” obesity.

@Rob1948 Was this person asked his permission for this image to be displayed on a public forum?

@Geoffrey51 it a google image so you can go ask them.

@Rob1948. This is obese. That is past "overweight".

@OpposingOpposum quibbling over words... obese is a more specific form overweight

You're right ! That's why it would be really difficult to trust an obese doctor in medicine.
