Short sighted decisions and instant gratification seem to over rule our best interests and good intentions as a species. It would be better to take a long term approach. To care for our planet and to think globally when making economic decisions. Our selfish decisions will be the death of us all once the water, air, and soil is too polluted to sustain human/plant/animal life.

I honestly don't look at "greed" as an intentional "evil".

Remember; the concept of 'evil' is #religulous....us agnostics see. no evidence for genetic or "devil' induced evil.

They don't have any ill will in mind when they make clever buys on stock or businesses purchased - that soar in price...then sell it and gain profit.

What they do have....is greed.

It just so happens that right now there's still quick money to be had with Fossil fuels, fossil fuel cars, drugs, and war equipment.

They look at the poor/third world dying off as a "necessary consequence" for our direction, and abuses. The #religulous call it "god's mysterious way"....

But greed is not only an addiction - it's the perfect addiction.

Much better than drugs.

Nothing to "take/shoot/snort/smoke"

No chemical attack on your body...just a risk with finances....and if you're clever it's others' money.

Your family hates you and cries for you if you're a drug addict.
If you're a money addict they applaud you.

And the better you are at it, the more food, better cars. better adventures, better sex, etc you get.

But it is an addiction. Probably more deadly than a drug addiction.

If you get good at it....the increased "things" get boring - and you want more.

And if you suddenly lose it; the complications for big money loss send many to suicide.

My first reaction was something like; "nonsense".
But I read it again, stared at it, tried to disprove it.
And realized it's true.
I don't think the concept of capitalism is evil. Like the concept of a corporation. Neither of these artifacts is evil. But the folks who use them to perpetrate the listed examples are definitely evil.

capitalism will fail... always in time.. It can go on only for so many years. Too many people are hung up on what you call the system. We just need to design a system that works. Forget about what to call it. That way one side won't feel like the other sides have "won". We need to change what we are doing.

IMHO aspects of either capitalism and socialism can be good or bad. I think most of the Democratic candidates are running on platforms that try to take the better parts of each and implement them. The meme is too binary.

That depends on your definition of both.
It is greed, corruption, paranoia, and very human. So goes my opinion of the human parasite.
