Eat your hearts out, peons. Keep trying and someday you, too, can have a pretty purple t-shirt. And geez--that picture is huge.

I am not one to wear my feelings on my sleeve or in this case my chest

I find the "party poopers" amusing--you know the ones who would NEVER wear a t-shirt with a logo in public.

It is amusing because I seldom wear t-shirts of any kind, and the only ones I have with logos are those from the schools where I teach that were given to me (wear them around the house) and one with a scene from Where the Wild Things Are.

This post was meant to be lighthearted and most people took it that way. Unfortunately, people with no apparent sense of humor took it quite seriously.

Dudes and dudettes, get a life and lighten up.

I would never dream of wearing this in public for a multitude of reasons. But it would make a good rag if its made of cotton.

I agree.

And that is your business, as well.

@richiegtt Regardless of your intent, it was a judgement. There was no other intent to post what you said on a thread that was intended to be amusing, not promoting the wearing of a t-shirt. The issue is quite trivial, but yet, you found it necessary to give your 2 cents about an issue so trivial as to be a non issue.

I left Christianity for various reasons, but I left a church based on the judgmental aspects of the congregation. Your post, and the post of a few others, shows that judgement is not a Christian attribute but a human attribute. So you don't like to wear t-shirts with logos--who cares? The people who understood the intent of my post did not respond because they care about the t-shirt: it was a chance to built community and share a joke. Many of them are people with whom I have exchanged banter/opinions on other threads.

I long ago stopped caring about what other people do or do not do in matters this trivial. I am not annoyed, but again, I am amused that some atheists do the same "things" for which they criticize believers.

@Gwendolyn2018 Talking about making a mountain out of a mole hill .I deleted my apology .A long winded tirade repeated 7 times is a severe over reaction .I suggest you seek out a mental health professional .

@richiegtt She is just one of a plethora of pathetic disturbed individuals on this site .I do find them amusing though .

@richiegtt And I suggest holding your tongue when the person whom you are addressing doesn't care a whit about what you have to say. Save the "holier than thou" for when you return to Christianity.

And you got my point, didn't you? Sometimes, one just has to drive the point home.

@Gwendolyn2018 Ha,you state you do not care about what I have to say but in fact you do you hypocrite. For what other reason would you spend an inordinate amount of time composing a lengthy drawn-out boring essay in response to my brief comment that did not even have anything to do with you.But this is not surprising from a misfit that feels contempt for 99 percent of the population .

@richiegtt It took me about three minutes to write that "lengthy drawn-out" essay. I understand that your writing skills are not up to par, but I read and write for a living.

And dude, I can see that you need to have the last word, so I will let you have it. Go ahead, post again and I will not say another word and you will have achieved your goal.

@richiegtt exactly

I reached level 8 some time ago and haven’t received a T shirt but wouldn’t wear it even if I had it for quite a few reasons.

Would never wear this thing .I view it as obnoxious .I despise apparel that advertises ones views feelings or beliefs or in this instance lack thereof.

The last thing I would do is draw attention to myself by sporting a t-shirt such as this .This is bragging in my opinion,and I find it offensive.I know I am an agnostic and that is good enough for me .

And what is wrong with bragging? Isn't humility a Christian virtue?

I have a pet peeve that involves any type of clothing that have messages printed on them . I can’t stand them !!

And I have a pet peeve against people who judge others.

I got mine in the mail this past week. Yay!

Deb57 Level 8 Sep 6, 2019

We are the coolest.

I don't even know how I got to 7. Apparently there are points for being a curmudgeon.

I disdain 99% of the population, but I am pleasant in my rejection of them--so pleasant, they often do not realize how much I loathe them.

@Gwendolyn2018 I do not possess the patience or inclination to disguise my disdain for most human beings, but I find most people choose to believe I'm joking.

@JimG Living alone and working from home helps temper my patience; I am not exposed to most people long enough to get very irritated. I am friendly and in public, social, but I avoid crowds and have few friends--no close ones in MO where I live. The last time I remember showing my impatience was with a man at McD's where I used to go to sit to grade for a change of scenery from my house (in winter). He was a Trumpster and the second time he started in on me, I let him have it. He did not bother me again.

Most often, I find "those" people as amusing as much as much as I disdain them.

I am an extroverted introvert or vice-versa. Some people are surprised at my lifestyle and reclusiveness. Being an introvert does not equate a lack of social skills; it just means that I like people on MY time (which was a problem in my last relationship) and that I enjoy being alone.

@Gwendolyn2018 can relate !

@Nathalie_Quebec And some people cannot! Most people are afraid of their own company.

@Gwendolyn2018 I know ! I'm the weirdest : I like silence too. No music or tv on until 8h pm. I like to hear myself think 😉

@Gwendolyn2018 I encountered one of those trumpists yesterday while eating lunch at a favorite spot. I was struck with how confident and persistent he was -- would a pedophile brag about his beliefs? I refuse to adopt a defensive posture, and I always say "sorry to hear you're so badly misinformed". And he assumed I would share his perspective because we were eating the same thing.

@Gwendolyn2018, @Nathalie_Quebec for me it's audio-only until Rachel Maddow comes on.

@Nathalie_Quebec Yes--and surprisingly, what I think does not bother me as some people seem to fear being alone with their thoughts.

@BitFlipper I don't have a TV.

@BitFlipper The Trumpsters are confident in what they think and believe and are, obviously, unable to reason, read, or understand logic. People often assume that I am Christian (because I am "nice" and friendly) but they do not often assume that I am a Trumpette. I think it is because I look like an old hippie in many ways.

The last time someone assumed I was both Christian and a Trump supporter was a salesman who came to give me an estimate for replacing an awning. I would not have placed the order due to the high cost of the estimate, but the deal was doomed when he first said that the owner of the business was an "honest Christian man" and second, when he bragged about how the economy of the US was "booming" due to Trump. Both comments were aimed at appealing to my assumed religious and political standings.

Nope.

I was rather mean, though; instead of telling him "no" at that moment, I told him that I would think about it overnight just to give him hope. Sometimes, I just don't mind being petty. I did let him know the next day.

@Gwendolyn2018 I only watch Carol Burnett, Perry Mason, Twilight Zone, & Alfred Hitchcock. I don't have cable, I watch MSNBC on the internet.

@BitFlipper I have Netflix, but I rarely watch anything--it is very difficult for me to sit through a movie or even an episode of a TV series as I want to be doing something. I watch more in winter when I quilt and knit than I do in summer; when my hands are busy, it is easier for me to sit still.

@MissKathleen Well, darn, I am speechless, and I am rarely speechless. Thank you! I like you almost as much as I like chocolate, and that's saying a LOT!

@MissKathleen And I see a strong community of women here--we tend to build each other up, not drag each other down.

@MissKathleen There are always women who are not supportive of other women--for whatever reasons. Women need to support each other even when they do not agree on issues. On this site, I see that supportive women tend to gravitate toward each other--birds of a feather and all that!

@MissKathleen I agree that people need to support each other in general. I do feel, though, that for centuries, women were taught to be in competition with each other for the "best" man. We were taught to be catty and deprecating of other women and some women are catty. The amusing thing is men are catty, too, but they don't call their snipes "catty."

As for not supporting others; consider the posts on this thread; the vast majority of posters understood the satirical nature of my post and responded i nkind or just commented "good job," etc. However, several posted that THEY would NEVER wear a t-shirt like that and demonstrated a holier than thou attitude. What the heck? Lighten up! Only one negative Nellie responded to my replies to them. Save the serious stuff for serious posts.

Lovely pic!

Thank you!

3

7000 + more and I'll be there.
It's been a long road! Lol
You wear it well ! 🙂

Thanks! And I traveled that long road--so can you.

3

I'm on 7,working on it.

Stick to it! Then, you can gloat over having the shirt.

@Gwendolyn2018 🙂

@Buddha Of course, you will not look as good in yours as I do in mine. (Evil grin.)

3

Congratulations Gwen! Woohoo!

That's how I feel, whoo-hoo!

3

That looks absolutely lovely to me, congratulations 🎉🎇

Thank you!

Love the pigtail

I have good hair--if nothing else!

@Gwendolyn2018 The rest looks OK to me xx

@Moravian Blush.

@Donotbelieve Coming from another woman, that compliment actually means something. 🙂

@Gwendolyn2018 The last time I saw a pigtail a s good as that was on an American Vietnam vet (male) who somehow ended up in Scotland as a Chi Gung teacher. He used to stride around town dressed a bit like Gandalf with a large wooden staff.
Last heard of living in Sweden with some young Swedish girl.
I miss him. We neeed more characters like that.

@Moravian My hair is down to the bottom of my derriere, and I just cut off an inch the other night. I bet Gandalf couldn't beat that!

And yes, we need LOTS more characters such as that. So many people are just blah and dreary, lacking imagination. I am teaching my six year old grandson to be "weird" because his parents are so . . . normal.

@Gwendolyn2018 Ha ha Good luck with your teaching. My grandson is just 18 months old and I am looking forward to doing the same , but as both his parents are covered from head to toe in tattoos and artistic I shouldn't have much problem.

@Moravian It working so far, but I actually "fear" peer pressure more than the normality of his parents.

3

Congratulations!

Thank you!

@Gwendolyn2018 You are welcome.

3

Welcome to the 8's

Now, on to 9.

@Gwendolyn2018 long journey good luck

Very nice congrats!

Thank you!

I have one, but mine's a year old.

JimG Level 8 Sep 6, 2019

Well, I bet that you joined ten years ago. (Grin.)

@Gwendolyn2018 I am pretty old. 😉

And after a year at level 8, I'm still not half way to level 9.

@JimG Let's see . . . my mother lived to be 90 (though not with her faculties intact)--I might make it to 9.

@Gwendolyn2018 I don't think I have much chance.

@JimG Do you expect to die young?

@Gwendolyn2018

I don't expect to make it too ninety, but if I do, I probably won't make level 9. My activity level here has waned significantly lately.

@JimG My activity wanes and waxes. Since I work from home and am on the computer hours a day for work, I often check this site as a respite, but I also go through periods where I don't check it often.

@Gwendolyn2018 I took a break for a little over a month. I got curious and came back to look around out of curiosity. Even when I am on here, I don't post or comment nearly as much as I did previously.

2

It took you long enough. Congratulations.

Well, thanks a lot for the backhanded congratulations, Level 7 person. (Grin.)

@Gwendolyn2018 DON'T be cruel to level 7'ers! We are trying our best out here 😟

@demifeministgal here's a few donated points lol

@demifeministgal I remember; in fact, it seems like just last week, I was there with you.

@Gwendolyn2018 I would have already been on level 8 but I didn't really start paying attention to and participating in this group until I found a group I could turn to for support and to vent and that changed my involvement... apparently I joined in 2017 but ofc I don't remember-- that was the year the matriarch finally died. >.>

@demifeministgal I usually post according to my grading load. Ironically, I might post more when it is heavy just to get a break!

@Gwendolyn2018 Oh man if I had created an account here when I was a student in university I expect I'd be at level 9 now!! procrastination is a helluva habit! XD

@demifeministgal Become an adjunct instructor for three schools and teach 5/6 classes at a time--the art of procrastination will return. I do, somehow, manage to meet my deadlines.

@Gwendolyn2018 that assumes it ever went away ahem 😉

@demifeministgal Mine hasn't! When I took the Myers-Briggs in grad school, it "told" me that I procrastinate but it was ok because I work well under pressure and get things finished on time. I find it interesting that my worst bouts of procrastination are when I have little to do, not a lot.

I need my size 4xxxxl sent to 421 Stonehaven Drive # 108, Ames, Iowa 50010

Whoo-hoo! Now that everyone has your address, you will be inundated by people asking for money. Um, can I borrow a fiver until Tuesday?

@Gwendolyn2018 everybody ASSumes public declarations yields unwanted harassment....but as an honest politician since 1978 the desired responses are few and far between....the xians send me bible verses prEyers and junk mail from Jerry Falwell cult "school" alleged to be lib÷rty university.....if I get my shirt there is a gawd working volunteer hours in Admin

@GreenAtheist I suppose that you have never had a guy track you down in real life even when he did not know your real name.

@Gwendolyn2018 of course WOMEN are targets but honest Open ATHEISM works like cooties in my experience

@Gwendolyn2018 Larry Carter Center USN'71'73 real as it gets PNSA on my tombstone

@GreenAtheist This guy would have tracked me down regardless of my belief or nonbelief! Even Christian men are willing to overlook the sin of atheism if they find the woman appealing enough--been there.

@Gwendolyn2018 stalkers are BOYS real men don't track down women for "looks" they are rapists ready to attack if they have a plan to avoid arrest....

@Gwendolyn2018 xians are NEVER appealing to me....that goes for gay xians who were bragging how much better they "love" than all women....it is repulsive to me for a believer wanting sex with me of any kind.....believers are the worst kind of MANAGE AU TOIS....there is no jeebush geehobah ghostholes adding to two hands on my leg or shoulder....a believer thinking 3 will be in my bed makes me want to puke piss and shit a trinity on their bible porn

@GreenAtheist This guy left me alone--I called the cops and let him know that I did. I find that quite a few men cannot fathom that because they are interested in a woman, it does not mean that she feels the same way.

@GreenAtheist I can deal with them as long as they do not proselytize--my sister is Southern Baptist and does not attempt to convince me of anything. However, she has gotten soft in her old age and says that if god exists, he/she is nothing like Xtians think he/she is. That's a pretty big admission for a Baptist.

2

Welcome to the Great Eight Club!

I am in good company!

1

ughh STOP rubbing it in my face already!! gosh darn elitist level eighters :/ 😟😛

I was not elitist until I got the shirt!

@Gwendolyn2018 Is this what my future self is destined for?! 😮 what shall become of me and my humble ways?! oh dear O_O

@demifeministgal You will taking a picture of yourself and bragging. (Not that I personally have ever been accused of being humble.)

1

Very nice. Is that a hair braid you're holding? Is it your's? 🙂

If it isnt hers its probably the scalp of the last person to ask one to many questions.

Yes to the braid and I dunno whose it is; it miraculously appeared when I got the shirt.

@1of5 You know me too well.

1

Congratulations

Thanks!
