Democracy is collapsing all over the world, people are electing comics, game show hosts and TV personalities as their leaders and they are all proving inadequate to the job and the real politicians can't, or don't know how to handle it, and the public thinks it is reality TV.
Get ready for a new political era when this all falls apart.

Most elected heads of state are nothing more than talking heads. Governments are run by career civil servants.
Bozo the clown would be as effective as Ghandi would be as president. Today is proving this to be more true than in the past.
The exception is absolute dictators.

There’s been a long time voter-discouraging-politician-bashing campaign promoted by wealthy regressives in the USA. So when a Hollywood actor, ‘pro’ wrestler, or failed businessman claimed “they're not part of the political elite,” too many voters had no idea why there’s a need for executive abilities and institutional knowledge..
"Acting President". Only VP would be sworn in as president. All others in the list would become acting president and not sworn in. Unless I am reading it incorrectly. I am not a constitutional lawyer, just an average bozo.

VP could be impeached first.
@sassygirl3869 would not change the 1947 act.
Nixon appointed Ford to VP, then resigned. Ford was a senator from Michigan. Ford pardoned Nixon.
Trump could appoint a good buddy as VP, then resign and get pardoned just like Nixon did. He could resign and have Pence pardon him.
Gives you nightmares to think about it.
Too many get out of jail free cards that can be played.
Johnson and Clinton both took the full ride. Both had enough friends in the Senate to stop a removal from office.
