NO but it does not help by promoting the idea of chosen ones, and God's own people, and one true god.
Add to this that religions are some of the riches corporations in the world and have their grubby fingers in every filthy pie including arms dealing and ecumenical harmony becomes far less than desirable to the godbotherers

Exactly what skado said. The real problem with religion is there is no reasoning with believers. Other differences might be negotiated, not so with blind faith.

No, I think innate human tribalism does. It makes an appearance in religion to be sure, but also in politics, business, education, etc. Just about everywhere humans are doing anything, there is tribalism.
