Birth, life, death. What's it all about, Alfie? Not much. Is there a standard of 'meaningfulness'? No. The variability of human behaviour is such that everyone defines for themselves 'what is life' & what that life means to them.

Is their a meaning to life? Why do some of us have to cling to the concept of life having a meaning? Can we not just except that life is life and we , as individuals, make of it what we want to make of it? Personally, my journey is one of helping others. This is not an altruistic pastime it is my way of feeling good. Would I be so caring of others if that caring caused me discomfort, pain or despair. Probably not. I care because caring fulfills me and makes me feel good. . Reading down there are a lot of isms gong on in the world and I do not understand most of them. I am politically engaged in that I think about the political universe in relation to how it affects people at the personal level. Does that make me a political philosopher? I don't know. I guess it makes me a thinker. Because I think about things does this make me a philosopher? I don't think so as my thinking is all about observed reality. Whose reality some might ask but they would be wrong to do so as there is only one reality which individuals may interpret differently but that only gives license to ask whose interpretation of reality? Now I must cook my diner and eat as all of this thinking and writing has depleted my glucose levels. That becomes another problem. Can I cook without thinking? Besides the necessary thoughts that go into cooking my mind will probably explore other areas as I peel but hey that's life. I am just going to go and get on with it now.

I was focused on those subjects when I first started here but now I'm past it and mostly interested in talking politics.

I have seen several people complaining about content of posts, but maybe if you do not like what is posted, post something yourself??? You can't control the behavior of other people, it is wasted effort, but you can post something yourself . . . .
