How unwise to be a Christian. I mean aren't they atheists to all the gods of other religions that are practiced. What if Allah comes and the world comes to an end, yet they didn't follow the teachings of Muhammad and there's Muslim hell? (Not not there is, but...)
Also, which denomination of Christianity would be the right one? I mean, there are over 30,000 of them and still growing. In the extremely tiny island of Jamaica where I'm from, there are over 400 and still growing.
LOL
The Muslim religion is not a philosophy and if you think it is think twice. The Muslim religion is the most restrictive and oppressive religion there is and I doubt that you will find any converts to Islam in this community.
What are you talking about dear?
I often have to adress this subject. I did not become a preacher as god never told me what church SHE went to. Here is a video that touches on your post as far as determining what is true. I wish you the best!
Uh, BTW, Allah is the same god as that of the Jews and Christians. You probably know that already, but it isn't clear from the wording of your post.
Read my other replies to posts and you'll understand my thoughts on that. They are fictional characters that seem different even in the slightest hence they are different from my perspective. Different religion = different god.
Christianity is kind of comparable to the Masonic lodge secret religion racist devil worship government most commonly known as United States of America. You see, the U.S.A. is divided into 50 states but all the individual states have a type of loyalty to the Federal government. Christianity has its simular structure but can divide with out borders. There is the core premise in christianity of Jesus however there are many other things that one denomination may disagree with or oppose another on other issues.
So I joined Christianity three years ago, (this is my first post) and only now am coming out of it to be the way I was before that. (I felt lost and wanted something to believe in) Everything is fine when you're on the straight and narrow. But when something goes wrong (for example I'm getting divorced on unbiblical grounds) then it hits the fan. It might seem strange but I take a great interest in Christian Theology, particularly from an historical perspective. I'm currently studying a theology diploma, as I like to understand religions better. I'm by no means a Christian anymore. Once you manage to untangle yourself from the bonds of Christianity and don't fear The concept of Hell, you become very enlightened, and I feel free again. Though I still have morals. No religion is perfect in their sense of doctrine, and it just amazes me at the loopholes that many Christians and others go through in order to find a way for the Bible to accept their way of thinking rather than YOU following the Bible. If the Bible is wholly true, then there need not be any loophole to find, it should all be there. Anyway that's my two cents worth.
I never have done this before, but from the body of your comment, I think you might very much enjoy my YouTube channel as it deals with these very things. My channel name is compelledunbeliever.
Good luck with your studies.
Even more.
Allah, Yahweh, Elohim, etc. Are all the same guy, I use 'guy' loosely. They, from the Torah, Old testement, and the Quran, and others are all the 'God' of Abraham.
Same 'Guy'.
Yet they, for thousands of years have been in conflict with each other.
Yes, there are some differences in later texts with, Jesus, from one, the prophet muhammad from another etc. But their origin stories are all the same.
Silliness. All of it.
Last I heard, there are over 40 thousand Christian sects!
I had a painter that said "It's not good enough to just being a xtion. You have to say the words that you take Jeasus as your lord and savior". Looks like with all the qualifications being thrown out there will only be a few that will get to praise god for eternity.
Does "FU, you nitwit"? Cause him to walk off the job?
@AnneWimsey Actually I asked if man was made in gods image? "Yes". So he has a penis? "I suppose so". Does he have sex? "I don't think so." Then why would he have a penis?
@rogueflyer I LUUUUVVV you!
The right form of christianity is what your local pastor teaches. He may not have an education and may not speak well but he's the mouthpiece of god and if you question him one bit then you are going to be shunned by everyone and going to hell. That's pretty much the gist of christianity. The Local preacher will lead us to heaven and everyone else is going to hell.
Sounds like you are from Jamaica.
The Muslim conception of god is the same as the Christian, just they use a different word, based on Arabic. The conception is identical and thus mythology anyway.
It's not just about the word. Even though the Abrahamic religions basically either came out of it influenced each other, a myriad of their teachings are different. Like their versions of "heaven" or "hell" as rewards for the way you live. Is it the same fictional character that going to dealing those? Generally, doesn't each religion teach theirs is the right one? I mean it's the same idea, just plagiarized to be a little different to create a new fictional character.
Who would care if you are an atheist?
I would care and I would be enraged that some hideous creature, declaring to be a "loving" and "merciful" god refused to make itself known, dismissed people in need, perpetually persecuted innumerable people and then want to assert its "right" to be judge, jury and executioner. You know, judge me for using my propensity to think and act suitably.
Such a being would be undeniably savage, malicious, sadistic and perverse. I would never regret not worshiping such a monster. In the moment I would not acknowledge its authority, nor accept its judgement... unless I become a coward. So, in conclusion, I would not care if anyone or anything cares except myself.
I don’t get what your rant is about. If it’s you who would care that you’re an atheist, which you are, clearly, what does anyone else where you live have to do with it?
As it stands it comes across as an ‘’aren’t the Abrahamic religions ‘orrible’ post.
@Geoffrey51 Aren't they though?
Do you understand that you, your family and friends are a part of whatever society you live in? Do you understand that they may not necessarily share the same views as you do? Do you understand how a society works? Do you understand how the dominant ways of life tend to want to snuff out others?
Do you have a problem with passion? My rant seems pretty straightforward to me and a few others.
@HumanistA I’ll bow to your superior thinking and bow out as an ignoramus
I do not understand why anybody would think I could believe in a god of the desert? I just cannot relate. Lacking severely in the faith gene. Always needing proof.
Because culture works like this, you isolate yourself in the pool of your own culture and thinks anything outside it is nonsense.
See you as a Christian cultural based atheist even thinks "allah" and "god" are different entities. Both are the same god YHWH actually (if Judaism was the ruling religion they would all be executed for heresy XD).
It is like saying the Zeus from Sparta is different from the Zeus from Athena. Or that the English God is different from the Portuguese Deus just because you translated the word =).
Some theist from the Abrahamic religions believe they are not the same while some do. I'm saying what they (the gods) want based on the religions' teachings are not exactly the same. The way they want humans to live and the rewards and punishments are different. Hence they cannot be the same entity.
All the denominations think they are the right one and believers have no problems with that. I find it amusing. As for hell, that is the place god created for you if you do not believe in him. Wonderful isn't he?
I know right. What kind of sick twisted bastard creates their children and if they don't do what you want them to do, you throw them into fire? You created good and evil and tell them they gave free will to choose either but if they don't choose good and worship you then you'll throw them into a fire for eternity... Why theist can't see that religions are gory fairytales created by their predecessors?
