Why is the loss of a fur baby so hard?
My fur baby passed away yesterday in the afternoon. My cat was 13 years old and he died because of cancer. I feel overwhelmed with painful emotions.

This is Buddy, my first Cat. He was seventeen. I lost him ten years ago.

I had to put one down last week. So sorry,,,,,,,,,I miss having him sleep on my shoulder at night.
That's why I'm awake at six in the morning. I haven't slept very well since he died.

Because we tend to adopt them into our hearts as if our own children and they forgive and accept us as is so readily. That takes up pretty serious space in the emotion centers. So sorry for your lose.

We grieve deeper for those we love deepest ...we Atheists have no solace in alleged heavens ....Cenizo will always come to mind when you see whiskers or hear a meow or see 6 thumbs prancing your way ....you are a caring nurturing mammal like Cenizo....don't hold back your tears.... 14 years was a good run ....fight cancer with organic food pure water and clean air....keep his toys and special places ready for another furball of love when you ate ready to rescue a feline who needs a future

Thanks

When you buy a cat or dog you know their life expectancy is less than ours. You're going into the relationship knowing that. No it still hurts, I've been there a few times, but you knew it was going to happen.

An alternative is to buy a turtle.

I understand what you are saying but I did not buy my fur baby boy and his brother or sister. They came to my children lives when we were suffering of emotional distress because of their father alcoholic and irresponsible behavior. In 2006 We were visiting my cousin and she asked me if I wanted a cat. I told her that I wasn't ready for a pet. But I thought that maybe the cats will help to reduce my children emotional distress so I let my children to adopt the cats. I observed that my children were happy and their school grades improved. As a mother I felt more calmed to see the positive impact that my fur babies brought to our home. I feel grateful with these amazing creatures.

You can't hug a turtle without losing yer pecker.

They are the pure souls, the wonderful animals that deign to suffer our flawed existence. 💔😢

So sorry for your loss. I miss my cat Bootsie who I had to leave because someone made her an outside cat against my pleas. I couldn't move her to an apartment after that. Hopefully I will be living elsewhere someday where I can have cats, dogs and horses. Maybe not all 3.

Thanks

They are more loyal and devoted to you than most any human. For a meal and some scratching behind the ear they will never leave you and provide you with hours of quality lap time and laughter.
Sorry for your loss. If you don’t have others, I recommend finding a new kitty to love and be loved by. You can never replace the one you lost, but you can provide a chance for a great life to a kitten who needs your love! 💕🐱

Thanks

I'm so sorry. It seems that the only place we truly get unconditional love is from our pets and that's such a big thing to lose. I've shared that grief. ..lots of hugs..

Thanks

Because pets are AMAZING. They’re the best of friends and love us unconditionally. I’m so sad for you. I know how hard it is to lose an animal we love so much. 😔

Thanks
