No video, it was truly unexpected. I did watch it happen, though … gave a little poof of smoke - and that’s after I’d shut it off, apparently the metal was that hot! As mentioned, a couple ‘paper only’ envelopes had no problems … just my payroll checks.

Considered photographing the results, round burnt-out holes where the holograms had been … but didn’t want to send out TMI regarding their specifics.. It would make a cute facebook ..warning. For me, there won’t be a next time

Another casualty in our war on virus

I’m just looking at them, now. Those plastic windows concern me, as it’s said this virus can live up to 72 hours on such a surface.. I’d watched our mail deliverer carefully ‘pinch pluck’ an outgoing letter from my box, so obviously, they’re concerned, too

Yah, I’m smiling, now… Believe me, this won’t end here.. I’ve a great network of local co-workers who feed on this kind of stupidity. Damn Holograms, though … the one’s without those did fine

@Varn one thing I'll always miss is using my co-workers stupidity for my entertainment.

You could tell them that peeps (mmmm, peeps) absorb viruses when heated (thats why they expand in the microwave) so it's importaint to set a peep on top of every check.

I’ve tried ‘leaving them alone,’ but have ended up with small piles of mail tossed in my truck, a storage shed, and under the table.. Trying to remember how long each had been left there Thought I’d end any virus trace real fast this time! Shit - it was a smoke-detector moment ...after only 10 seconds!

Yes - I actually did it… Sent an email to our bookkeeper, letting him know I’d done enough cussing for both of us … and he’s informed me new ones would be ready on Monday.. So, I’m that dumb
