Recently my facebook newsfeed has been flooded with Church ads. I have no affiliation with any of them, have never heard of most of them and have no interest in them. For every one that I block it seems that two more appear. I seem to be playing whack-a-mole with them. WTF, am I the lone ranger here?

Mine are the fucking political jerkoffs want continuous donations. I donate to some of my state representatives but there are way to many of them with odd sounding places the payments go to. Lol And i like reporting them as irrelevant... but i am considering to report as spam ...lol
But religious ones, nope never bothered by them as i love to say things to them, lol, but i post a lot science, political and a lot of anti religious articles on my fb page. Fun fun fun with the mice....lol....

Have you recently had a conversation with anyone about church? Big brother listens. At work one night we were talking about a new customer service software we would soon be using called Helix. Suddenly I had ads for a DNA testing company called Helix that I never before knew existed.

That's creepy. Maybe Alexa was in the room.

@dumasarok nope, just my phone! Today I have doggy diaper ads after talking to my daughter about her elderly dog's incontinence.

Some time ago I was getting plagued by telephone calls from people wanting to talk about my "recent car accident". I have a low tolerance for this kind of shit and I twigged that these calls might be mostly from a country where most people are religious: i.e. superstitious. The next time I answered one these call was when I was expecting an important call from one of my family. So I cursed this character in the name of god for illegally using my phone and disturbing my peace. I didn't get another nuisance call for over a year. Then about two years ago it started up again. Use of another curse stopped it again.
So I guess my phone must be on a shit list somewhere as well as being ex-directory.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I got a "survey " from the NRA so I filled it out dripping with sarcasm and vitriol. Turns out, they don't even read the thing, it's just phishing for donors so now I get about 3 from them a day. I'm an idiot.

There has definitely been a rise in the religious right, fed of course wit tales of woe an persecution...

I just noticed the same! I have seen so many religious videos and ads lately. I hope this goes away with the virus. Lol

I think it's maybe because I posted some profanity and my mother didn't like, so it had some likes and dislikes comments. Lol

Same thing is happening to me. I clicked on the three dots and clicked on "hide ad". As "Irrelevant". That didn't work. I'm now flagging them as "offensive". Still waiting to see what happens. They have to make a ruling on all of those. If they have to do that, I figure they'll be overwhelmed, just as we're overwhelmed by their decision to bombard folks with religious ads. If they ask, I'll tell them they're trying to force their religion on me and I don't appreciate it. That's why it's offensive, to me.

I also mark them as offensive!

That, my friend, is just ONE of the reasons why I have given Zuckerbook the ' Royal Order of the GGF ' i.e. the Go Get F**ked.

I had this daily for the 2 weeks before Easter. All got reported as spam. Had a couple the other day, too.

Ive been running ads on FB to promote our On-Line service. When I do this it goes to everyone within 25 miles of my location. It only costs $10 for 5 days. It gets about 400 thru-plays about 2000 partial views and about 20 clicks on the website where the donate button is. Can't beat that deal.

Hey, just a thought here, why don't we all pass around the hat, raise a bit of cash and send to Admin so we can splurge Atheism all over Zuckerbook for a few weeks or so?
Can't imagine old Zuckerburg turning down a bit of extra free money, can you?

I have never had that problem but I use an ad blocker so that might be the reason.

I use an ad blocker too but I don't think it functions for these ads because they masquerade as posts.

Facebook algorithms are crazy. Recently they flagged me for doing a copy and paste to deliver the same answers and said that was not allowed. I protested by asking why they could continually show me the same things over and over again and claimed it was normal for me to have some of the same answers. Nothing more became of it, and I continue as before. I'm not seeing church ads however. I do see more religious stuff because of COVID-19 and I get upsets if I post my truth to them. People are simply convinced the biblical "end" is here. What about "the end" according to other writings?
One thing I do see much more of now is gambling. It's like slot machine casinos have taken over my Facebook feed. I click on the "like" for them and give them all a "ha ha ha." Maybe that's what keeps them coming. I never tell Facebook what I like or do not like nor what I want to see, etc.

They are likely finding new ways to spend all the money the federal government continues to throw at them.
