IS there anything the people really CAN do to reduce or stop the deliberate feeding of hate and disinformation to the masses? Those benefitting have a lot of influence...

I can take measures to protect myself, but the rabid consumers (of false, hateful information) surrounding me thrive on it. That creates danger for us all, doesn’t it?

It’s sort of like taking on a planet sized monster with a toothpick.

Twitter has finally decided to challenge TRUMPS hateful speech. But I think Twitter is doing this because they see Trump going into decline and they are betting on the side of history that says his days are numbered. The amount of monitoring of hate speech and bullying done on social media is very limited. School children are committing suicide because of on-line bullying. Social media needs to put more resources in to tackling this, and if they won't they need government regulation that insists on it. They make enough profits to be able to do this. This is not limiting FREE speech which is what some people would want you to believe. Abusing and bullying people on social media is not FREE speech. And Trump and others does this all the time.

Yes. All you have to do is not participate in in. Done. You’ve accomplished something by doing nothing.

Sure does not feel very effective at all... I wish it accomplished more. I won't feed the fire though, and can refuse to drink the koolaid.

Human greed, jealousy, fight for resources, all detrimental to long term survival is the reason we survived and flourished in the far past. Can we change? For eight billion people to change the way they were programmed? Nope. We have been on this course for thousands of years. We don't have the time anymore to fix it.

only if you fall for the obvious lies

A LOT of people around me fall for them, or just plain like them. I am not sure which.

@Zster usually feeble minded perhaps
