We have a doctor in my e.r. who every shift brings tons and tons of pastries and donuts and Starbucks for the whole e.r. staff, and then sits at his desk and munches on veggies. I both love and hate that he does this, because I swear he's trying to make all of us diabetic lol. I always feel compelled to take some even on days I don't want or NEED them (I am diabetic so sometimes they do come in very handy) because he spends at least 70-80 dollars a SHIFT on us, and it would be horribly rude to let them go to waste. (And I have the self control of a walnut. How could I waste delicious donuts?!)

Ah he's perplexing but I love him lol

So, You are going to get fat and sick to keep from hurting your doctor's feelings? Why don't you take a seat beside him, share a carrot stick, smile and say you are diabetic, appreciate his generosity, but all that sugar will not be good for you. If he begins to discuss this, tell him that his nurses need the healthy food , too, not only for their own health but to show a good example for their patients.
I cannot in my life imagine eating doughnuts, etc. every day just to please someone else.

Just say no! My place of work does this a few times a month, and I just avoid the breakroom (which I do any way because, well, I hate people). I bring my own lunch/snacks. I'm sure you not participating won't effect all the others who will eat their share, and yours! Stay strong, my friend.

I feel your pain. I buy no sugar added pie for my people on 3/14 (pi day).

Donuts are like sex, even when its bad its still pretty good.

What the hell!! LOL!! Is he trying to play "Devil's Advocate" by tempting everyone with a "poor" choice while he demonstrates the "wise" choice? Or maybe something more insidious, like he's running an experiment on you all!! LOL!!!

Pretty sure he just wants to be the healthiest person here lol

That made me laugh! Maybe you could thank him and suggest he alternate days with a veggie tray instead? Otherwise, just enjoy the love/hate relationship - and the pastries! LOL

Today he brought a bag of apples too. Next to the two 50 pack cases of little debbies. Guess what's empty lol

Doesn't sound like you are going to resist your food desires anytime soon.

Well he only works a few days a month so it isn't like I'm eating junk food 247

I hear you loud & clear..... Freaking sugar is not my best friend either. What do you do when cravings kick in, right??
