13-year-old Pennsylvania boy charged as adult in shooting death of younger brother

Shouldn't the parent also be charged in this case?

They do share some level of responsibility. There were two children left unattended with a loaded, unlocked/unsecured gun in the home.

The owner of the gun should be culpable made to stand trial with the kid then allowed a pass. He will suffer forever. If they are a bibical family perhaps charged as an adult would be proper, as they believe in the ancients texts and it is in the 13 th year you are Bar Mitzvah'd. Then you become a man.

At the trial they should show all the graphic pics and review every detail. And put the trial on TV so everyone can view the shame. Maybe hold yearly Birthday Ceremonies where it is rehashed.

It is a question of who did the crime. Can we charge the parents if a kid steals the car and gets into an accident and kills people?

Did these boys have and play with toy guns?

A man I once worked with said he didn’t let his young children play with toy guns but later taught them the use of real guns. That seems the most sensible course.

Seeing what Australian law requires, I suppose there has never been a home invasion crime.
