One of the great mysteries to people who use the space between their ears for thinking is why do religious people ignore the science and pretend that global warming does not exist and support a fascist dictator. Here is one possible theory, which I think is quite feasible.
I think it's an earthly acting out of the judgment day. Accoding to Christians during judgment day true believers will go to heaven and everyone else will go to hell. So if you discount global warming and support racist, fascist dictator then if your fondest wishes come to pass there will be a kind of distorted, perverse judgment day on earth. Since white, Anglo saxon, European, Christians are the dominant tribe in the world, and things like global warming and the epidemic affect minorities and the underprivileged disproportionately, as things play out it will be the dominant white dribe, with the privileges and resources, who will survive and the dark skinned people and the Muslims will suffer and perish. A sort of judgment day in the flesh.

Don't remember who, somebody, said "thinking is hard, thats why most judge", at least that is how I think it went.

i wonder if any of the global warming alarmists are a little confused by the disconnection between the lowest levels of CO2 in the atmosphere for many years & the increase in temps?
also, how about snow in alberta last week?

My theory is that accepting human induced global warming means accepting that the industrial dairy farming should be stopped. I have never met a Christian vegan or vegetarian. I am sure there are some, but very few. When you accept a logic that demands such intimate changes in your life, you tend to withdraw. I am of course overly simplifying and reducing.

Yeah climate change is going to kick our ass but look at all the root cause of overpopulation and overconsumption and the resulting pollution and species extinction. I could go on and these fundamental Christians think they are getting a new Earth.

You asked, "...why do religious people ignore the science and pretend ..."
They believe because the have been taught to believe. They have been taught to believe that everything In is in the hands of their divine creator. Religion is a con game and once hooked all things are possible. Indoctrinated children become delusional adults who are commanded to "spread the word". The reward will be given, but only after death. It amazes me that everyone can't see the scam of religion. It's all about the money! Just look at the scam headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Those Elders have developed their tithing operation to divine efficiency.
You might want to check on the numbers you gave for the dominant tribe. GROG

Christians in American for the most are supporting a liar, three times married narcissistic bully just because of the anti-abortion issue. I know a lot of Christians and Catholics here, even some relatives, and the strong, main and only point for them is the anti-abortion position of the government. They don't even care about the climate.
White Anglo Saxon Europeans are not going to heaven. I always point out that the bible very clearly says only 12,000 jews from the 12 Israeli tribes will go to heaven. Jesus is the king of the Jews. So there's no entry ticket for anybody else and people is fooled into believing this so the church can prey on them. There's no family reunions in heaven, no spouses, mothers, children, all that ends on earth life. All that is just comforting fantasy.
This is only a race based vision of Christianity. But Muslims, Indians and other Asian peoples have their own idea of religion and life after death.

Who is the chosen people of the god of the bible? Jewish people are his chosen.

And honestly true Jewish people are becoming a smaller minority every passing year. Isreal isn't even truly Jewish anymore. Its xionist.

A placard on the wall in the house of a Xtian I know states "Things Happen for a Reason," and the next line says "Just Believe." So, don't think, don't question "just believe" the shit we have been telling you since you were 4 years old!
then, there was the lady, at a church we toured, in Santa Fe, who had her toddler kiss each and every one of the wall hangings devoted to various saints. Indoctrination can begin so early.
I've read "Revelations" twice, to see what the hell is in there, and I find it to be so vague, that one could read virtually anything into it. But, then, I was not primed, or taught what to read into it, by prior indoctrination.
Over all, I think your point is accurate.

It was right in the context of the New Testament to wait for Jesus' return to bring in a new world. It would, I think, have been considered a lack of faith to go about trying to solves the world's problem. Believers were only supposed to wait one generation for his return (Matthew 24). But now, 2000 years later, the penny should have dropped that we need to do it ourselves. In fairness, we have done a lot. I think fundamental Christians imagine they are in the same situation that first-century Christians were in, waiting for the imminent return. They have been saying the end is coming 'soon' for 2000 years (1 Peter 4:7).

2

That's a lot of overlapping assumptions.

  1. Most "Christians" know that if they deny God outwardly, their friends and family will deny them. Additionally, they'll give up socializing events such as the weekly get together, home coming covered dinners, fest days, etc. If you've been following horror tales of atheists abandoned by family, friends, co-workers and sometime employers, you'll know why it is good idea to pretend to be religious.

  2. Racism is largely an egoistic belief supported by not hanging around other groups and getting to know them better.

  3. "Since white, Anglo saxon, European, Christians are the dominant tribe in the world . . . "

For the most part, that's America for you. Hispanics are coming up close to replacing them. If you look at the GLOBAL tribes there are more people in India than America. Let's not forget the Chinese.

If you look at the ancestors of MOST "white" Americans, they're a mixed breed. By the third generation, SOMEBODY married a Cherokee.

BTW Anglo Saxon doesn't mean European. Ask any Brit you happen to meet.

  1. " . . . and support a fascist dictator . . .

No, again. SOME Christians will support whatever is in office. That's partly because of the bible verse "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar." It's a verse the Romans loved. As a general rule people ignore politics until they're starving and the ruling order is jailing and torturing half the population. After the revolution, they ignore politics as long as they are comfortable.

I've learned the hard way when you quiz people what that word "fascist" means, they're almost ALWAYS wrong. "Fascist" is just another word people toss around because it's shorter than saying "I hate 'em because they suck giant donkey dicks and they're not giving me their money."

There are some who are trying to speed up armageddon. A wealthy evangelical group in Texas was trying to breed a pure red bull in Israel back in the 90's. Apparently one of the needed signs.

Apparently, in 2015, an Israeli group started working on that. It is a precursor to rebuilding the temple where a mosque now sits - which needs to happen pre armageddon.

1

Ignorance is common across religion. Belief supposes you are privy to something others are not. I think that’s why science is ignored across many groups of people, not just certain sub-sects.

2

I find this very interesting because modern Evangelicals are always looking at world events through the printed pages of Revelation from their bible. You constantly hear them say this or that person is not the Antichrist, but a "forerunner" of the Antichrist. The game is to bend everything in the news into that ancient book when the complicated book was never meant to say anything about America, the world, or current politics.
They deny that "white is right" but secretly follow that idea and they all connect the dots to make their way of belief the right one. That's right. They can be with their god forever and ever but everyone else is going to hell.

No, so called white Christian sects or tribes only hold dominion over parts of Europe, North and South America!!!

You are so mislead of who is actually holding dominion over this planet!!!

Islamic followers and Hindu followers out number so called Christian sects on this planet!!!

These plagues and pandemics that are now man made and induced at will, hence do affect those in countries that are not wealthy enough to over tax their populations to fleece them, instead open Corruption, medical experiment and overt uncontrollable pollution is use as a form of open genocide against these poor populations!!!

2

One hell of a theory, I’d keep it under my hat, otherwise every red neck racist ass hat might sign up.
Just remember the most common bird in America was the passenger pigeon.
They’re extinct now.
Maybe things have worked out for alpha whites, but there’s no significant difference between them and any other minority other then a slight difference in pigment and the talent whites have for hating over long periods of time, I don’t know how racist do it.

those white families in the south that are multi generational would be mighty surprised to learn that there is an 80-85% chance that they will have an 8-12% mix of African blood in their dna...so much for their master race bullshit!!

3

I suspect that people tend to do as they were brainwashed to do as a child and it's not necessarily about using the space between their ears but overcoming the brainwashing. And you want to see brainwashing in action, just say socialism or communism amongst even purportedly intelligent americans. Watch this space.

Though christianity is the largest religion with 2.2 billion followers, your assessment that "white, Anglo saxon, European, Christians are the dominant tribe in the world" is ridiculous. What's your evidence for this claim? There are more chinese people in the world than any other race, and there are more hindu people than white people. Groundless, baseless.

Christianity has less than 1.5 billion followers!

Islam has over 1.85 billion followers!

Hindu has over 1.6 billion followers!

That leaves over 3 a billion of other religious and non religious beliefs on this planet!!!

@of-the-mountain search says 2.2 billion christians
[thecountriesof.com]

@Mofo1953

Yes!

Suddenly since 2017 there more billion more Christian on this planet!!!

Seem the ultra right christian evangelistic’s has magically added more followers!!!

This is total BS!!!

Christian in this country have decline by over 20% in the last 30 odd years!!!

Seems they are playing with you to show how fucked up the Christian have become under trump their savior of lies and deceit!!!

Even the pope has declare lost of followers worldwide!!!

@of-the-mountain but that is not really the point about my original comment. I don't really give a how many brainwashed morons are in this planet, my concern was in the veracity of the claim of white anglo saxon christians being the top tribe, they ain't, there's black and brown christians who outnumber whites.

@Mofo1953
Yes!!!

Christianity has been in decline for too many years to count!!!

Your white tribed moronic idiots are control by a very minuscule group of males!!!

@of-the-mountain not mine.

Then they are badly in error and short of vision, (not that surprising really, ) because "white, Anglo saxon, European, Christians" are the dominant tribe only in North America, and they may not be aware of it, but there is a big old world out there.

American exceptionalism....

What you propose is a possibility, but have you ever given any thought to the idea that your concept is way too convoluted for them to understand.
