Yea, this is a deeply personal thing for me, no help required, actively opposed actually.

Super easy for me. I am a rationalist and these absurdities are laughable. Cast aside like so much garbage.

The day I finally realized the extent of my non-belief it was as if scales had fallen off my eyes. I borrowed that from the man who wrote most of the NT but forgot to say scales fell of my mind as well.

Yes, it was tough for me, too. But time healed the wounds, and now I am happier than ever. 🙂

I agree with @Storm1752. Like many physical diseases involving bloodborne pathogens, the scars and memories of emotional traumas remain indefinitely. Recovery, therefore, is an ongoing process that takes place for the rest of our lives. The only real "cure" for a disease like religion or COVID is to avoid it entirely, from birth.

I don't believe you're "totally cured," no one is...but any tips are always welcome.

I started to question things very early on, but it took until i lived in a very religious country to really see through to where I am now. All I can say is that we as a species, have been trying to figure out what makes the clock tick, since we saw the sun go down for the first time. People have spent their entire lives trying to write the book and why it all happens and we will have to do the same. I look at it as an amazing gift. We live in a world where we can question and discover the answers to an endless universe. No book religion, or person knows it all. We are all on this journey as a species and we all have something to contribute to our future.

Yeah, I was actually a pre-ministerial student before I figured it out. The more you know...
