Would it be consistent for an atheist, BLM football player to "take a knee" at the football game? Or is "taking a knee" universally understood to symbolize bowing to God?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The action of respectfully kneeling during the National Anthem is a long-standing action of protest. It does not disrespect the anthem or the flag.
Wearing a garment that's made to resemble the flag, modifying a flag to include a motto, displaying a flag in ways contrary to the U.S. Flag Code ... all if those actions show disrespect for the flag and for the country it represents.
Foreign operatives and domestic profiteers have attempted to cloud these issues.

Taking a knee in this context has nothing to do with prayer or with god.
You can google “why did Colin Kaepernick take a knee” and you’ll find his reason, and also an NPR interview with the veteran and NFL player who advised Kaepernick.
