They find one another… unpleasant. ?

Im a proud member of the urban dictionary definition of misanthropy. I hate people, but I'm not opposed to having a few friends.

I hear they're pretty good one on one in general.

@Markus I would agree with that .I think most misanthropist hate humanity as a whole, but they don't hold anything against the individual .

They probably find each other sullen and unpleasant to be around.

In my mum's case? Joining the EDL and Britain First groups on Facebook.

Eek!

Double eek!!!!

One of the reasons I'd never allow her to friend me on there while she was still alive. I have a blanket ban on anyone posting stuff from those sources or others like them.

She was a hardcore misandrist and general misanthropist. In her later years, she became more and more Islamophobic. It had gone beyond 'send them home' and as far as 'shoot them on sight.' Apart from the eye doctor who saved her from going blind. He was lovely, in spite of having brown skin and a funny accent.

In part, I think she just liked to court controversy. The values she espoused later in life were totally contrary to the ones that she raised me with. I'm massively conflicted over the person she became. Proud of what she achieved (author of over 40 published and successful books) but so intolerant of everyone and everything that it was difficult to spend more than a couple of hours with her in person.
