Problem solved LOL.
Had a local not-so-Handyman homeowner from the next block up from my house ask me for a solution to his dilemma.
NOT the Evangeloon Idiot next door btw.
That 'dilemma" being, " I've got nothing I can use to punch nail holes in the sheets of corrugated iron I'm using to finish putting the roof back on my house, what can you suggest?"
A bit of quick thinking and, voila, up jumped the solution.
I simply told him to go to the nearest Hardware Shop and BUY a carton of Ready Made Nail-holes to suit the nails/screws he plans on using."
Jeez Louise, ARE there such dopey people in the rest of this world REALLY.
I mean, a hammer WILL drive the point of the nail through the sheeting, and self tapping screws will DRILL their own way through the sheeting.

And I'm sure he'll need some tartan paint to make it look nice afterwards...

Or striped paint, LOL.

Don't forget to pick up the 1/4" pipe stretcher there too. hehehe

And a few extra post-holes while you're at, you never know when you'll those....LOL.

In restaurants, it’s “a bucket of steam” or “bacon stretcher”

A drill would work, too.

Yep, know that for sure, but I have and use what is known as a "Marlin Spike."

That's hysterical. Hopefully the guy in the hardware store will "order" him a box of the proper size. 😆👌

But the holes from the hardware store are guaranteed to be the right depth.

On those nail holes, are they available in metric and English sizes or do you just have to kind of like match it to the fastener you're using? 🤣

Great answer....hahahahahaha!!!!!!

It's a bit like the one when I was working on the Railways as a Storeman, part-time along with my normal jobs as Train Examiner.
Sitting the Storeroom, taking stock one morning when a 'newbie' Fitters' mate walked in and asked for a Left-handed Philips Screwdriver, 1 long weight and 2 short ones.
I knew that the Fitter liked to pull pranks on 'newbies' so I knew instinctively what to do.
I simply told the 'newbie' that he needed to sit outside for half an hour, then come back in, go out again, wait 10 minutes, come back in and then repeat it again.
Which he did, finally when he returned for the last short wait, I handed him an ordinary Philips Screwdriver and told him it worked ONLY for Left-handed people BUT only on screw that were right threaded ones....LOL.
He walked away smiling and happy ....LOL.

@Triphid One of my dad's friends was telling us when he was young, he was sent on a fools errand. just as he started to walk away, he realized there was no such animal, so he decided he would look for it all day...somewhere where there was no work being done. Napping may have been done.

@GeorgeRocheleau We also had a Loco Driver who liked to prank his trainees as well.
His favourite was to be driving the Loco down to the Railway Station, look annoyed and tell the trainee that the Loco had a flat tyre.
YES, railway vehicles DO have tyres ( tires in Americanese btw) they are heat welded to the wheels and have the flange that guides the train around bends on them.
Every trainee would immediately ask where the jack, spare tyre and wheel spanner were kept so he could 'change' the problem tyre....LOL.

The amount of people who think they can DIY vs.the ones who really can is Astounding!
After 47 years in this house, Nothing surprises me, including opening up a kitchen wall & finding the cellar coal furnace venting into the upstairs bedoom.......well, okay, my eyes got big & round......

When I was about 14-15 the kids in the neighbourhood and I used to sell pieces of red clay house bricks to the gullible tourists and tell them that they were piece of the hotel where Ned Kelly and his Gang had their last stand against the Victorian Police.
At 30 cents for a paper bag with a bit of shattered old house brick and a piece of shaved off lead thrown in for good measure we were on a roll until our parents caught on..
