How do you spend your Sunday mornings?

By definition, we're not going to attending church! I allow myself a late lie-in, followed by a large and leisurely, relaxed breakfast. Then at 11am. I head for rehearsals of the farcical play we are putting on in just under 3 weeks time.

Have a cup of coffee and watch SNL that was DVR'd the night before.

I had to look up what SNL meant. I gather it is a very entertaining mix of music, laughs and my favourite genre or comedy, satire. Unfortunately, I would tend to stay up late to watch it there and then! Hope you had a great morning today.

Kundalini yoga

I haven't heard that word in a while. Years ago we were participating in a WOOF program in Oregon and picked up a cookbook in a small bookstore, "The Kundalini Yoga Cookbook". My late partner loved it especially the parts regarding measurements (pinch, handfull, double handful and on). When she was dying she passed it on to my daughter. It was cheap but once sold on eBay for over $500. It is now for sale on Amazon for $115!

Cats and coffee

Usually I'm checking guests out of my BnB....then cleaning...etc. Otherwise, I read, and, now, waste time on this site.

Keep wasting it. I do!

I make coffee. Sometimes I make a late breakfast, sometimes I go out for one, usually mexican or cuban. I write a column or I chill out and watch netflix. I treat it as a day of rest and recharging.

Definitely coffee!

When I'm feeling really lazy, I too allow a local cafe to feed me, usually with a massive, full English breakfast and a bottomless tea/coffee pot.

@Petter we don't have English breakfasts per se in FL. But Cubans and Mexicans and Colombians are pretty serious about breakfast.

@jperlow It's a serious event. (Break-fast or, in Spanish, Des-ayuno)
However, for me lunch is a snack and the next decent meal is in the evening. Whereas in Spain the midday "Comida" is a main meal, with the evening cena being lighter.

@Petter yes I spent a year in Salamanca, also lived in the UK for a short period.

@Petter I am also a fluent speaker. My mother has a master's degree in Spanish and I have lived in several Latin American countries including mexico.

@jperlow I've never lived in the UK. I came straight to Spain from Kenya 31 years ago.

I do what I feel like just like any other day.

I lie to watch the Sunday news shows

I think you meant to type "I like to". It's the people the news shows are showing that lie.

Working mostly, sometimes in church! Hahaha. Soon I will hatch my plan to quietly spread reason and amongst them.... good, good.

Aha! A subversive fifth columnist!

2

I sleep in, have coffee in my pajamas, and read or scroll on facebook and post hilarious memes. So lazy on Sundays.

Well, the bible did define it as a day of rest. So you are technically obeying the word of god, but with selective hearing regarding the "keep holy" bits!

As a resturaunt worker Sundays have always been the hardest working day, and almost never off. Usually complete insanity..
Funny how all the good religious people who crowd up the resturaunts after church have no problem having others work on the day of rest. Aren't they supposed to "save" people instead of letting them go against scripture in the name of serving their breakfast? Not a complaint, just an observation. That's where the money comes from. 🙂

How about professing to be an Islamist and asking for time off on Friday? Lol. 🙂

2

Sunday is my bacon and eggs day. I started that years ago, and that's the only difference on a Sunday for me.

A fine tradition! With toast and marmalade I hope, (or sometimes toast and marmite.)

@Petter Today it was toast and home made apple butter.

@Petter yes marmalade!

@tnorman1236 Apple butter sounds good too, but I would probably have that during lunch or for afternoon tea.

I live in a heavily Christian town so I take advantage of their busy time. I will either be doing some walking meditation on the empty trails or I will do my Costco shopping as the doors first open.

So there are advantages to living in a heavily Christian town, after all!

It depends on what I need done for the day. There's no set itenary. Sometimes I have errands to run, sometimes I go a ballgame, sometimes I go to the gym, hang out with friends or just sit at home and chill. I really do enjoy having a day off to do what I want or need to do without being obligated to get up, dress up, go across town and to hear some clown tell me a bunch of fairy tales and pay my hard earned money for him to do so.

What bit is to be free from the constraints of preachers - As your reward I suggest you head for a bar and spend what you didn't spend on the fairy-tale mongers!

My Sunday is not too different from yours. Sleep in until around 9 (I've been up about an hour). Then coffee and a lighter breakfast (I'm home alone today so the big breakfast was yesterday). I plan to exercise later and have a project at home I need to get behind me. I have a teen aged daughter who is big into musical theater and am a parent "volunteer," so my weekends and some weekday evenings often involve chauffering her around to reherasals and classes supporting this activity.

Yes. Much the same except for that ghastly word "exercise"!
My son and daughter in law are nuts about theatre, sometimes flying from London to New York just to watch as many shows as they can over the weekend. She is actually a drama teacher and he is an IT developer. All their spare time is taken up with performing in the Epsom Light Opera Company. Hope your daughter continues to enjoy musical theatre. (Weird the way American and British spellings differ!)

Im up at 2 or 3am even on my days off so I spend until daybreak wasting time on facebook and now agnostic.com, then plan my geocaching route if I am caching that day.

I geocache, hike or walk 4 miles on the beach and am usually home by 1pm. Sometimes do some yard work instead if Ive let it go too badly LOL

Then get back online. Truly sad I know.

About 3pm, I will start messaging my daughter to find out where she is and when she and kids are coming home cuz Im hungry and know she is gonna cook something.

The progeny will be home around 4 or 5 so there is chat time for about an hour or so then usually watch an episode of Flash, Arrow, Black Lightening, Sheild, Legends or Supernatural with the grandkids. The occasional disaster movie that we make fun of while watching is also possible.

Bedtime at 7

Glad you asked huh?

Zounds! I don't usually go to bed until you are getting out of it!
Snap on wasting time on FB and Agnostic.
But then we part company - I like to eat well so I do all the cooking!
After supper, it's down to my local for a tipple or wo, then back for more screen-staring as I peruse social media, or watch some scientific or historical programme on BBC4.
Aren't you glad I replied - huh? 🙂 🙂

@Petter Actually my daughter wanted to be a chef until a dentist left a broken needle in her gum that ultimately damaged her sense of taste and feeling in her tongue. She still likes to make nice meals. which I like to eat.

And yes I am glad you replied.

@SherryMartin Sorry to hear about the effects of that damned needle.

Thank you for being glad!

Sunday mornings I watch my political shows. Slept late this cold dreary day and started watching them at noon.

You need an overhead TV in the bedroom for use during cold weather. There are a couple of excellent political shows on Sunday morning on UK television, followed by a programme called "The big question" where Christians, Muslims, Jews, Atheists and motley others discuss the day's subjects. Sometimes participants get quite heated, especially when their beliefs are rationally questioned.

2

I wake up late. Play a little guitar, play some video games until Talk Heathen goes live. Play video games until it's off. Go out to eat. Watch the atheist experience. Catch up on any tv I missed. Go to sleep.

Sounds great. Where do you find Track Heathen and the Athiest Experience? Thanks!

Beats getting sore knees and being berated by some "holier than thee" person!

@Archer Talk Heathen is on youtube live at 1-2 pm CDT. The Atheist Experience is live @4:30 CDT also on youtube. They both archive their shows, so there are years and years of Atheist Experience shows to watch on youtube.

@Petter Hilarious and so true!

@BrightTyger979 thanks for the leads! I'm on it! I get to feeling intellectually isolated at times up here in the sticks. This is perfect!

1

I'll lie in bed and watch CBS Sunday Morning. Lazy Sunday.

Aha! You have a wall mounted TV in the bedroom. Great for thos times when you can't sleep. Just tune to some dull programme (Fox?) and it will lull you to the land of nod.

1

On occasion I do go to the Unitarian Universal Fellowship. Services start at 12, so I can recover slightly from my hangover and still make it there on time.

1

I spend it getting caught up on news. And then attempt to spread what I find on here. I listen to NPR all day 5 days a week getting my fill of establishment bullshit. On the weekends I filter that bullshit out with the real investigative news journalism I can truly rely on. WHen the weather gets right I'll spend my weekend afternoons riding 🙂

Feel free to join us. "Out Of The Illusion "

I'll take a dekko soon.

1

When I lived in Syracuse our atheist meetup group had an “Unbelievers Brunch” once a month on a Sunday morning. Those were so much fun.

I hope you recited an inappropriate grace!

1

I do the heatheniest thing imaginable--I go to the game store with a bunch of friends and play a role-playing game! ?

That's heathen? Oh dear - I am condemned for eternity!

@Petter Oh, aye! Them dice and papers is the divvil's work!

@memorylikeasieve Aaargh! I too be bedivviled by them.

1

Sunday is my day of rest. I spend it alone. It's my recharge time.

Break a leg.

I'll hop to it, right away sir.

1

Three out of four Sundays, I have to work and deliver packages for Amazon. He usually goes until 1 pm or so, so then I just do house projects or watch a movie.

Well at least you get one Sunday morning a month for yourself.

1

I spend the first few minutes of the morning figuring out how to get out of bed without disturbing the cats... just liek any other morning.

Ah! Another slave, ecstatic that the cat allows you into the house!
