Human beings tend to make a big mistake in how they think about th real world. We tend to think about the beginning, life, and end of things living things, buildings, planets, etc, etc. And of the things we value, we try hard to lengthen or preserve the existence of those things. The only problem with that is that it is simply false. The only aspects of nature and of the entire universe which are permanent are processes.

Similarly, political and ideological conservatives try to keep things -- institutions, beliefs,
norms, patterns of life, businesses, governments, laws, etc -- in place long after they are of real value in serving humanity -- if they ever served all of humanity In so doing they inhibit the ability of the species to create new things which enable the species to survive and thrive i changing conditions.Eventually those conservatives will threaten the continued existence of our species.

The only way that the human species can survive over time and continue to thrive is to b attuned to changing processes and conditions, and to create new things more attuned to a changing reality.We do not need to change willy-nilly, but to be attuned to an ever changing reality. Conservatism is a curse of out-dated culture.
