I just found out about something, INFJ personalities.
Why didn’t anyone ever explain this to me before.
It’s like I’m listening to a stranger explain me to me.
Like a spiritual experience.
Getting into this again caused me to go Online to the 16 personality types and take the test again. As of today the results say I am INFJ-A. When I joined this site I took the test and came up with ESTJ-T. I put that in my profile. Am I confused or did I just feel differently then? I do find that our feelings change and I am able to look back in time to several of mine and see the differences.
I too am an INJF, though like many I am skeptical of these types of tests.
I have taken these tests several times over the course of 30 some years. I always get either INTJ or INTP. Don't expect that it will be a predictor of behavior. splitting the entire human race of nearly 6 billion people into 16 different types is pretty low resolution classification. But I suppose 16 is better than 12.
Imagine testing INFJ then looking up your horoscope and discover you're cancer.
The good thing with Myers Briggs is you have input, and really doesn't deserve the contempt of astrology.
Especially if you use it for the tool it is and not as an excuse to manipulate others with.
It is all bunked!
Take the test again.
Then take it again a month later, at a different location to see if you get the same results!!
Guess what you never do!
Actually they've been giving me personality test for ages, I just never understood or cared about the results. I actually tested 12 times in 20 years, most frequently as INFP, with about 20% INFJ mostly when I was younger.
It's normal to vary, in fact the INF portion is my defining feature J and P will vary. If surrounded by personalities that I don't trust I'll react more J, when I have people I trust or plenty of alone time I'll react more P.
I've taken in numerous times over the past couple decades as well and always got INTJ. Now it's INTJ-T, whatever the hell that means. Apparently the last letter is also a coin flip, so that means there are 32 personality types now?
@JeffMurray
The last time I took that voodoo tests was several times over thirty years ago!!!
My results were never the same!!!
If you base how one personal life will be and is used to see if one is capable of working in certain careers then we are then telling others they are socially unable to be part of the culture or workforce!!!
Just another racist tool used to subset different classes of individuals as worthy or unworthy!!!
It is funny how so many get the same results, even with different upbringings and cultures!!!
Just like IQ tests all are biased, they are not based on education, culture, economic level, or race!
@of-the-mountain I never heard of these being used for job placement. Actually, I've never really seen them used for anything. And I agree with Willow that it is not the same as astrology.
And not for nothing, but I think you have it backward. If IQ tests were based on those things they be biased.
@JeffMurray Point of fact, introverted intuitive people honestly have a very hard time in life, especially when growing up. Finding out that what I've experienced isn't unique to me has been very liberating. It says that not only have people like me been around since the beginning but we are well understood by some and that somehow lends validation, which is weird because I'm also prone to slam the door on outside opinions and yell how much I don't give a fuck. So embracing it is even more liberating. It's a tool, not an excuse, but it's like the world said, "I see you" and then it winked.
